Week in Books v2

This week was Kenna’s senior night so I skipped Brenna’s last league game to go and support Kenna at her senior night against rivals, Mira Costa. Redondo doesn’t do the whole circus that North did at our senior night so only Kenna’s immediate family and the grandparents walked out with her. So her parents Chey and Delene walked her out with her older sister Meghan, younger brother Luke and then her cousin Manu stood in for her running late grandmother and my Dad, Papa Joe walked out with Kenna.

Only people that came out to support Kenna on her senior night was me and Pete. Oh, and Chelsea. Our out of towners were following via Facebook Live though so Kenna felt the love from some of her family.

Kenna played well this night, too bad that her team didn’t come away with a win over their cross town rivals but that’s okay. You win some, you lose some. Playoffs start this week and Bren’s team will be traveling about an hour and a half away from home to play while Kenna has a bye this week.

Currently Reading

Good Boy (WAGS #1) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy.

Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not read in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling and a snarky pair of underwear.

I haven’t been reading as much as I did last month and I’m just not in the mood. Instead, I’ve been binge watching Hawaii 5-0 but at the moment, I’m reading Good Boy by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy. So far, it’s good so I’m hopeful that it will continue to be awesome.

Pretty Face by Lucy Parker

I only read one book last week but it was a damn good book. I loved Lily and adored Luc. Their romance was sweet and I just enjoyed it so much.

  1. I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying Good Boy. It was a fun read and I liked how little drama there was. And yay you loved Pretty Face too! That book was a breath of fresh air. I can’t wait to see what else Lucy Parker writes.
I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

I finished Good Boy last night and I adored it. So stinkin’ much. Blake and Jess were fabulous characters and I was so glad that Bowen and Kennedy didn’t go the usual route of throwing a wrench in their happiness to extend the book. Gah, I loved it all!

Pretty Face was so good, too. Man, Luc was everything and Lily was fantastic! I love grumpy heroes and I can’t wait for more from Parker. She’s great.

      Thanks, Boo! Same to you.

Good Boy?? Loved it. So good. If you haven’t read it yet, you should fix that. It was a fabulous romance. Pretty Face was great, too. Read that one too, Grace!

Hey you! Thanks for stopping by. Lucy Parker is a must read, she writes the good stuff and the Eloisa James was another fabulous historical romance so you should definitely read that one too. It’s good, I promise! 🙂 Have a great week, Renee!

You should read that one, Gen. It’s good stuff, I promise! You’ll love Blake. Pretty Face was another fab read by Lucy Parker. I’m so anxious for her next one.

Kenna wasn’t happy that night because she lost her game but she played well, not that it mattered to her. She didn’t play well enough if you ask her because her team still lost. Ha!
