Book Boyfriend of the Week: Luc Savage from Pretty Face

Posted January 5, 2018 by Rowena in Features | 2 Comments

I’m changing things up a little this year, as far as Eye Candy Friday is concerned. I’m going back to calling this feature my book boyfriend of the week because…that’s what it is.

So to kick things back off, my first Book Boyfriend of the year is Luc Savage from Pretty Face by Lucy Parker.

He won me over with quotes like this:

“He’d known, right from the beginning, that she would be a completely disruptive pain in the arse. He worried about her. All the fucking time. And he missed her like hell. All the fucking time.”

How can you not warm up to a guy with all of this charm? Haha. Don’t worry, he falls head over heels in love with our heroine and his surprise over it all warmed me right up.

“It’s second nature to pull apart a performance, isolate and slice out the dead weight, piece it back together. I also know what it feels like when there’s that very rare click and it’s just – right. It works. From the first line of the first scene.” A nerve ticked in his jaw. “It doesn’t often happen onstage, and I didn’t expect to ever experience it offstage.”

See? *swoon*

Pretty Face by Lucy Parker
Series: London Celebrities #2
Also in This Series: Act Like It
Genres: Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Harlequin, Carina Press

Highly acclaimed, award-winning author of Act Like It Lucy Parker returns readers to the London stage with laugh-out-loud wit and plenty of drama

The play’s the fling

It’s not actress Lily Lamprey’s fault that she’s all curves and has the kind of voice that can fog up a camera lens. She wants to prove where her real talents lie—and that’s not on a casting couch, thank you. When she hears esteemed director Luc Savage is renovating a legendary West End theater for a lofty new production, she knows it could be her chance—if only Luc wasn’t so dictatorial, so bad-tempered and so incredibly sexy.

Luc Savage has respect, integrity, and experience. He also has it bad for Lily. He’d be willing to dismiss it as a midlife crisis, but this exasperating, irresistible woman is actually a very talented actress. Unfortunately, their romance is not only raising questions about Lily’s suddenly rising career, it’s threatening Luc’s professional reputation. The course of true love never did run smooth. But if they’re not careful, it could bring down the curtain on both their careers…

Luc is that sexy older guy that all the girls have big crushes on because he’s so sexy. He’s not very approachable but that doesn’t stop the girls from wanting him to send his perfect smile their way.

“He looked about as approachable as Darth Maul, but then, unexpectedly he laughed. A proper, eye-crinkling laugh. And her pathetic, perverse, masochistic little heart went o – it’s you.”

There’s nothing quite like a proper laugh from that one person to light up your world.

Here’s my Luc Savage…what do you think?

  1. Excellent book boyfriend, who doesn’t love Luc Savage? I mean, he’s a grumpy older man but a charming one who has an amazing family and who I simply adore. I seriously want to reread Pretty Face now so thanks for that. I mean, who doesn’t love a good old reread anyway.
