Brenna and I have been talking about a bunch of stuff that we want to do together and one of those things is weekend matinee movies. Last month, we watched The Greatest Showman together but we want to amp that up in February so of course I made a list of movies that I want to watch this month.
There’s a pretty decent variety in the movies that I want to see so let’s hope we actually make time to go and see some of these.
Check it out.
1. The Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018)
Rated PG-13 | Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller | 2:21
In the epic finale to The Maze Runner Saga, Thomas leads his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet. To save their friends, they must break into the legendary last city, a WCKD controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all. Anyone who makes it out alive will get the answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze. Will Thomas and the crew make it out alive? Or will Ava Paige get her way?
I’ve watched both of the previous movies and Dylan O’Brien missed a lot of the last season of Teen Wolf because he was filming this movie so yes….it’s on my list of movies to watch because I want to see what the heck the big deal is with this one. I didn’t read the books but they’re pretty popular so why not?
2. Den of Thieves (2018)
Rated R | Action, Crime, Drama | 2:20
A gritty Los Angeles crime saga which follows the intersecting and often personally connected lives of an elite unit of the LA County Sheriff’s Dept. and the state’s most successful bank robbery crew as the outlaws plan a seemingly impossible heist on the Federal Reserve Bank of downtown Los Angeles.
My sister Ingrid saw this movie and before she texted to let us know that she was going to see this movie, I had never even heard of it but I watched the trailer for this movie and….I’m sold. This one looks good so yeah, I’m in.
3. 12 Strong (2018)
Rated R | Action, Drama, History | 2:10
The True Story of the Army’s Special Forces “Green Berets”, who within weeks responded to the 9-11 attack. Green Berets, with the help of the 160th SOAR(A), took over the country and allowed other Special Forces and the rest of the conventional military to begin the more publicly visible war.
I’m a sucker for military movies so of course this movie made its way onto my radar. I’m also a fan of Chris Hemsworth (hello, hottie!) so his casting, the whole military thing and then some US history that I actually lived through?? Yeah, I’m all about it.
4. Black Panther (2018)
Rated PG-13 | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi | 2:14
After the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T’Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country’s new leader. However, T’Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from factions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakandan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.
I love me some Michael B. Jordan and I’m looking forward to watching some other hotties when I watch this movie because, yeah…I’m all in. The cast alone on this one is pretty epic so I definitely want to see this one.
