Week in Review (80)

Posted March 5, 2018 by Rowena in Features | 2 Comments

Happiest of birthdays to my brother Pete and daughter, Brenna. They both celebrated their birthdays this past week and they’re two of my favorite people so they get a shout out here on the blog.

It was a busy week for us with dinner for Pete’s birthday on Friday night, breakfast for Brenna’s birthday Saturday morning then Bren and Ken’s basketball game almost two hours from home on Saturday evening (they lost but played so well) and then today is for Meghan’s championship game against that school again, Westmont. It should be an intense game and honestly? Please don’t bother me from 4pm-6pm PST today. Thank you. 🙂

Now, onto the books…

Just when Nevada Baylor has finally come to accept the depths of her magical powers, she also realizes she’s fallen in love. Connor “Mad” Rogan is in many ways her equal when it comes to magic, but she’s completely out of her elements when it comes to her feelings for him. To make matters more complicated, an old flame comes back into Rogan’s life…

Rogan knows there’s nothing between him and his ex-fiance, Rynda Sherwood. But as Nevada begins to learn more about her past, her power, and her potential future, he knows she will be faced with choices she never dreamed of and the promise of a life spent without him.

As Nevada and Rogan race to discover the whereabouts of Rynda’s kidnapped husband and are forced to confront Nevada’s grandmother, who may or may not have evil motives, these two people must decide if they can trust in each other or allow everything to go up in smoke.

I am completely obsessed with all things Ilona Andrews right now. This writing dual has caught me up in feels and I don’t ever want to come out of any of their worlds. I blame my friend Holly on that. It’s all of her fault for making me read these books. They’re so good. Also? Mad Rogan is everything.

  1. Yay for birthdays (especially when it’s family, it’s always nice celebrating with them). I hope Brenna and your brother both enjoyed their day. I am so happy your obsessed with Ilona Andrews right now, aren’t their books amazing (I hate trying to figure out how to talk about a writing duo when they use only one name). Nevada and Rogan are one of my favourite couples ever. They had such mad chemistry and they are so good together! I am feeling an urge to reread brewing, I loved those books!

Oh gosh, I really need to stay on top of responding to comments. Hi Becky and yes, they had a great birthday this year and are already planning next year. Brenna turns 20 on her next birthday. Somebody hold me!
