A series of chance encounters leads to a sizzling new romance from the New York Times bestselling author of the On Dublin Street series.

The universe is conspiring against Ava Breevort. As if flying back to Phoenix to bury a childhood friend wasn't hell enough, a cloud of volcanic ash traveling from overseas delayed her flight back home to Boston. Her last-ditch attempt to salvage the trip was thwarted by an arrogant Scotsman, Caleb Scott, who steals a first class seat out from under her. Then over the course of their journey home, their antagonism somehow lands them in bed for the steamiest layover Ava's ever had. And that's all it was--until Caleb shows up on her doorstep.

When pure chance pulls Ava back into Caleb's orbit, he proposes they enjoy their physical connection while he's stranded in Boston. Ava agrees, knowing her heart's in no danger since a) she barely likes Caleb and b) his existence in her life is temporary. Not long thereafter Ava realizes she's made a terrible error because as it turns out Caleb Scott isn't quite so unlikeable after all. When his stay in Boston becomes permanent, Ava must decide whether to fight her feelings for him or give into them. But even if she does decide to risk her heart on Caleb, there is no guarantee her stubborn Scot will want to risk his heart on her....

This week’s book boyfriend is Caleb Scott from Fight or Flight by Samantha Young. When I first started the book, I didn’t think I would finish it because Caleb was a freaking asshole to the heroine, Ava. All throughout the first third of the book, he’s a dick. I’m glad that I stuck with the story because boy does Caleb come around as the story develops.

I really loved seeing the romance between Caleb and Ava develop. I loved how strong Ava was and how determined she was to not let Caleb ruin her day, her life, her everything…and I really loved seeing Caleb fall in love with Ava because we definitely see it. He goes from dickhead to smitten kitten and then head over heels in love and I loved seeing the change overcome him.

“Why are you staring at me like that?”

Lifting his head away from his hand, he shrugged. “Nothing else is worth looking at when you’re in the room.”

It’s been a couple of weeks since I last read his book and I’m still smitten my damn self over Caleb Scott. That accent, the soft way he treats Ava once she’s finally in all the way with him. The way that he can’t stop thinking about her, wanting to spend time with her, and then coming back to Boston from Scotland for her. It’s all good stuff with him and that’s basically why he’s this week’s book boyfriend.

If you haven’t read his book yet, I recommend fixing that because Caleb Scott is a one of a kind hero that is alpha at the same time that he’s a sweetheart. On top of how awesome Caleb is, his heroine Ava is pretty fantastic too. She’s strong, smart, with a great head on her shoulder and she’s inherently kind. My favorite kind of heroine. She doesn’t take any of Caleb’s shit and is constantly putting him in his place and I loved watching their romance unravel. So, so good.

Hero Casting

This is how I pictured Caleb at the airport bar. All sexy, blond asshole hero. Love!
