The Monthly Recap: February 2019

Posted March 12, 2019 by Rowena in Books, Features | 2 Comments

It’s been a long couple of weeks for me. Lots of family stuff, on top of some work stuff going on that just has kept me busy and that is the reason why this post is coming to you guys so late. I’ve also been in a bit of a blog slump as well. This month’s recap is mostly going to be a bookish one, I think I’m going to move this post to a more bookish one and leave the personal recap to another post. These posts are really long with just the book stuff so I’m going to separate these for the time being.

Now, let’s get to the bookish goodness, shall we?

10. The Kiss Quotient (The Kiss Quotient #1) by Helen Hoang (Audiobook) | 5 out of 5
11. Bad Influence (Bad Bachelors #3) by Stefanie London (eARC) | DNF

My favorite read of the month goes to Huge Deal (21 Wall Street #3) by Lauren Layne because Kennedy and Kate were the bomb and I couldn’t get enough of their story.

My least favorite read goes to Bad Reputation (Bad Bachelors #2) by Stefanie London. Honestly, that whole series left a bad taste in my mouth but the romance in the first book saved the entire book for me, whereas this book just pissed me off left and right and that continued on in the third book before I just closed that book for good and never went back to it. Gah.

Sorry to hear about the slump, and sorry you didn’t enjoy the Bad Bachelors series. I didn’t care too much for Bad Reputation but I loved Bad Influence. Other than that, it looks like you had a good reading month!

    • I’m reading so I think I’m out of my slump but the reading is slow going and it’s a complete mood thing. Nothing at all to do with the writing or the books that I’m reading. It’s all me. I’m just in this weird funk that I can’t seem to shake. I’m so sad.

I couldn’t get over the Bad Bachelor App crap and Annie’s shit attitude toward the people she supposedly loves and just her unwillingness to help them out. She was so focused on complete strangers getting the help she wanted to give that she left the actual people in her life swinging from the cliff and honestly, I just didn’t want to cheer for her to get her happy ending with the guy that drove her to do all of that stupid crap. Grr.
