The Weekly Recap (150)

Posted August 24, 2020 by Rowena in Features | 2 Comments

This week’s post is coming to you a little (okay, a lot) late because I forgot to schedule it and then I’ve been so busy at work since I’m covering for my coworker this week that it totally slipped my mind. Ehhh.

Anyway, here’s what I’ve been up to in the last couple of weeks…

What I’m Currently Watching

30 But 17

Starring: Yang Se Jong, Shin Hye Sun, Ahn Hyo Seop
Year Released: 2018
Genre: Contemporary, Romance

A life can change in an instant.

Woo Seo Ri (Shin Hye Sun) was a 17-year-old violin prodigy who is getting ready to study abroad in Germany. But a serious car accident leaves her in a coma.

Gong Woo Jin (Yang Se Jong), who caused the accident, is traumatized and plagued by the guilt of what he has done. Thirteen years later, he works as a set designer but is emotionally cut off from everyone around him.

When Seo Ri wakes up unexpectedly from her coma 13 years later, she is in the body of a 30-year-old woman but is mentally still only 17. Can Woo Jin help her adjust to her new world and learn to live and love again?

“Thirty But Seventeen” is a 2018 South Korean drama series directed by Jo Soo Won.

My boys Yang Se Jong and Ahn Hyo Seop are in this show so I had to check it out. I’m really enjoying it right now and I’m glad for that since the last couple of shows and movies that I watched didn’t live up to my expectations. I’m hopeful that this show will continue to entertain me so fingers crossed.

What I Watched

Dr. Romantic | 3.75 out of 5
Dr. Romantic 2 | 4 out of 5
Save Me | 3.5 out of 5
It’s Okay to Not Be Okay | 5 out of 5
One More Time | 2.75 out of 5
The Witch | 4 out of 5
While You Were Sleeping | 4 out of 5
Something in the Rain | 2.75 out of 5
Vagabond | 3 out of 5
Miss Baek | 2.5 out of 5

I watched a handful of shows and movies in the last couple of weeks and my favorite of the bunch is It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. This show was so stinkin’ good that I’m super sad that it’s over. Man, I adored this show to bits. Already, I miss Gang Tae, Sang Tae, Ko Moon Yeong. They were such a great group.

My least favorite of the bunch goes to Miss Baek with Something in the Rain a close second. Both of those drove me up the wall. Miss Baek took too damn long to help the little girl and Yoon Jin Ah drove me right up the wall with her immaturity, her know it all, lies too much stupid ass that I just couldn’t enjoy that one. Ugh. I’m glad to be done with those two.

  1. Sorry you’ve been with work and I’m busy catching up on literally every aspect of blogging. Being lazy does not mix well with blogging. Anyway, glad to see you’ve seen some good k dramas. I’ve started watching Itaewon Class but I’m only one episode in and I’m loving it. I waited on watching It’s Okay to Not Be Okay but it’s on the list. The ever growing k-drama list you are totally making longer. I need to find more k drama watching time but I can’t watch and do other things at the same time which is what I normally do when I watch TV.

    • I’m so glad that you’re watching Itaewon Class. Let me know if you cried because I ugly cried so much but I think I was the only one of my friends to do so. I’m not sure why nobody else ugly cried but shit, that show is good. LOL. Team Saeroyi. *swoon*

I hear you on the being lazy not mixing well with blogging. I’ve been working on not being lazy. I’ve been writing a bunch of reviews for the dramas and movies that I’ve watched and I’m working my way through all of them. I’ve got reviews for every week of September already scheduled and I need to start scheduling reviews to go up for October. It feels nice to be catching up.
