The Weekly Recap (168)

Posted June 7, 2021 by Rowena in Features | 6 Comments

Hey everyone! You guys miss me? LOL. I’ve got no good excuse for my month-long hiatus, I just didn’t feel like blogging. I spent the last few weeks keeping up with my YouTube subscriptions, reading some books, reading some webtoons and cleaning my house. My sister did come into town for a week and stayed at our house so I played host and that was fun. Other than that, I’ve just been chilling and keeping to myself.

Now, let’s get into all of the things that I did last week…

What I Watched

Law School: Law School is wrapping up and this week is for the finale. I’m really enjoying this show. After Taxi Driver, this was my second favorite weekly drama. Kang Sol A is still my favorite and I’m still hoping for something to happen with Joon Hwi. So last week, lots of plot twists and shenanigans pop off and the way that episode 15 ended, had me jumping for joy. These law school students are smart and they’re tenacious and I’m so here to see how all of this wraps up because Assemblyman Ko needs to go down at all costs.

My Roommate is a Gumiho: I was very interested in watching this show because I really enjoyed Hyeri’s acting in Reply 1988. I became an instant fan of hers while watching that show and so I wanted to support her new show. I’m glad that I did because this show is cute and it’s fun and it’s got a cast of outstanding visuals. Every single person in this show is drop dead gorgeous. On top of an amazing looking cast, the story is cute and the chemistry between the two main leads is great too. I’ll definitely be watching more of this.

Racket Boys: Taxi Driver finished last week so I was searching for something to take its place on my weekly drama watching schedule and came across this one. I adored the main character in Crash Landing on You, and Move to Heaven so I’m looking forward to getting to know him in this new role. I’m also really stoked to see one of the team badminton players play a character that I actually like, instead of the bully he played in Taxi Driver. The first two episodes released last week so I watched it over the weekend and I’m in. I love all of the badminton players, even the girls and the Mom in this show was in Sky Castle and I liked her in that one so I’m hoping that I’ll like her character more in this show.

Doom at Your Service: I’m all caught up on this show and it’s an interesting show that is different from the other shows that I’m watching on a weekly basis so it adds some variety that makes me happy. Park Bo Young is what drew me to this show (I adored her in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and Abyss) so I’m looking forward to supporting her in this show. So far, this show has intrigued me. From the storyline, to the characters, and to Park Bo Gum’s particular story, I’m completely hooked.

What I Read

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Vol. 12 | 4.25 out of 5
To Sir with Love by Lauren Layne | 3.5 out of 5

I finished two books this week and that makes me happy. I enjoyed both books though the Lauren Layne isn’t a favorite of mine. Layne has a way of writing that never fails to keep me interested in what comes next for her characters and that was the case with To Sir with Love. Volume 12 of Demon Slayer was another fantastic addition to that series and I’m seriously looking forward to the second season of that show to return.

Song of the Week

Butter by BTS

I’m still streaming the hell out of Butter. Being part of Army comes with streaming duties and I take mine seriously. I’ve never been as involved in a fan base as I am for BTS. I grew up being a fangirl of boy bands and even musical groups before but never like this. Butter is a great song and I absolutely adore it so it’s not a hardship to stream the song on Spotify and watch the music video on YouTube. If you’re Army like me, make sure you’re streaming Butter! We have streaming goals to meet and records to break! Borahae!

Glad you’re back in the blogging scene. Gota check out those Kdramas and I’m enjoying the Mangas to Demon Slayer as well. Jimin is too funny and hope his illustration comes true haha!

    • Hey you! Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, I figured I should probably start working on stuff other than BTS Run episodes and K-Dramas. Haha.

  2. heyyyy! great to see you. 🙂 I was wondering if you’ll share your thoughts on the latest BTS song and you didn’t disappoint. I knew you’d like it. It’s pretty catchy, tbh. Anyway, great to have you back!

  3. Time away is always a good thing. Sometimes we just don’t fancy blogging, look at more poor neglected blog I’ve not posted on since January. I’ve seen everyone talking about Law School so i want to watch, but I’ve been waiting for all episodes to be out on Netflix first because I am not a patient person when it comes to new episodes. I’ve also seen bits of Doom At Your Service and I’m not sure if I want to watch. I’ll have a think it looks interesting but then I know there are so many other shows I kind of want to watch more and they’re easier for me to find to watch.

    • The first couple of episodes of Law School dragged a little bit but overall, I really enjoyed that one. It was my second favorite show that I was watching while I was watching Taxi Driver. I definitely recommend it!

Doom at Your Service is more of the lovey dovey, sad love story shows but I’m enjoying that one too. It’s a different pace than a lot of the shows that I’ve been watching lately.
