The Weekly Recap (170)

Posted July 5, 2021 by Rowena in Features | 4 Comments

It’s been a quiet week of me training Brenna all week so lots of work information is being shared and retained (fingers crossed!). We stayed in for the holiday, only went out in the heat for groceries and we’re going to run some errands today but aside from that, we’ve been watching a lot of content. BTS content for me and Bretman Rock content for Brenna. We tried watching a movie together and that movie was boring and low-key dumb so we didn’t even finish it.

Now, let’s get into all of the things that I did last week…

What I Watched

Doom at Your Service (2021) | 3.75 out of 5
Nevertheless, (2021) | DNF
Fear Street Part 1: 1994 (2021) | DNF

I’ll be reviewing Doom at Your Service so I won’t get into that show but the other two? Not for me. Nevertheless was slow and the push and pull and just everything about the episode I watched didn’t catch my attention so I quit it. I’m not sure if I’ll go back and finish it though, right now, I’m for sure not in the mood for it so I skipped it.

Fear Street Part 1: 1994 was the movie that Brenna and I chose to watch together and it was corny as shit and just not my style of horror so we quit it. No thanks.

Weekly Episode Thoughts

My Roommate is a Gumiho (2021): I’m really enjoying this show and I enjoyed this week’s episodes too. I’m disappointed with Woo Yeo doing what he did even though I understand his reasoning for doing what he did, I was still disappointed. I don’t have an answer for how to fix things for him but the way that he did it? Gah, I just….gah. I understand Lee Dam’s reaction and felt her hurt because I was feeling the same thing. I still love Woo Yeo though. I still ship the hell out of him and Lee Dam. I’m also really loving the secondary romance as well. They are too freaking cute. I can’t wait for the final four episodes. I’m freaking ready.

Racket Boys (2021): This damn show is so wholesome that I love it to pieces. I love all of the boys and am really liking the little sweet romances between the main character and his girl and then the secondary romance between the captain and the girl that is always trying to protect the national athlete girl. I really need to learn their names because my mind is completely blank right now. This week’s episodes were more of what I’ve come to expect from this show and I’m loving every minute.

Search: WWW (2019): I just started this show yesterday and I’m about halfway through the series and am enjoying it. After the first episode, I was on the fence about finishing it but the second and third episodes cemented the deal for me. I’m liking it, the strong female element, the super sexy love interest (okayyyy Jang Ki Yong) and I’m really excited to finish it. The writing is strong, the acting is fantastic and I’m really loving how different each main female character is.

What I Read

The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary | 4.25 out of 5
So We Meet Again by Suzanne Park | 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed both books that I read this past week so I’m looking forward to seeing what this week’s reads bring. The Flatshare was super cute and I loved both characters and honestly, the same goes for So We Meet Again. Like I said, both books were just good so I recommend this.

What I Listened To

Outro: Tear

This is the song that I’m listening to on a constant basis (outside of my Butter streams, of course). I watched a performance of this song a couple of weeks ago and J Hope’s verse and performance made me cry. I didn’t even realize that this was the song that Suga was talking about in one of those Burn the Stage documentaries that I watched early in my BTS journey. It’s become one of my favorite songs right now. It hits differently, knowing the background behind it and yeah, I’m still listening to it and loving it.

What I Got

The Spanish Deception by Elena Armas
For Vacation Only by Mila Nicks
Reel by Kennedy Ryan

I’ve been seeing good reviews of these books around so you know I had to get them.

What I Got for Review

Nothing caught my attention this week so I didn’t get anything for review.

What I Reviewed

Not Quite a Husband by Sherry Thomas | 3.75 out of 5

What Made Me Laugh

There you have it, my week in review. How was your week?

    • I was expecting the same thing and while there were some nostalgia through the songs played…for the most part, I was just disappointed. I’m still deciding on if I’ll watch the second one.

  1. Bnice

I like the song you chose and i also like the GIF or Meme at the bottom of your blog- too funny. You post up the cutest ones.
I’m still in my Kdrama slump and going full force with Anime. I’ll get back to it soon I hope lol!
