October is going to be a busy month for me and for my family. So as September winds to a close (and I can’t believe that we’re already heading into the tenth month of the year). Our second October in this damn pandemic. Gah. Anyway, this week was for cementing travel plans. I’ll be in L.A. for a couple of weeks and then traveling back to Denver for a couple of days during the time that I’m in L.A. So I’ve been booking my flights and figuring out where I’ll be staying while I’m away from home.
Then my birthday is in November and Bren booked her doctors and dentist’s appointments so that she’ll be in Vegas for my birthday so I’m thinking that I’m going to make some plans for a girls weekend with my best friends that weekend but it’s still early days for that. I’ll get that figured out in the next few weeks.
Now, let’s get into all of the things that I did last week…
What I Watched

Squid Game | 4.5 out of 5
Tomorrow with You | 3 out of 5
I binge-watched Squid Game this week since I was hearing all about it from everyone, everywhere. Some of my favorite mutuals on Twitter were talking about it so as soon as I was done with Tomorrow with You, I jumped right in. I’m not at all mad that I did because it was good, hella gory but the story itself was interesting, there was enough entertainment value to make the entire viewing worth the time. Tomorrow with You was good but it was slow moving in the middle and it just wasn’t my favorite of either of the main leads dramas that I’ve seen so far.
Thoughts on This Week’s Episode

The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim: We’re almost to the part of the show where the good guys battle the bad guys and I’m so excited for it. This show has captured my interest from the very beginning and that hasn’t stopped yet. I really like Ga Doo Shim and Na Woo Soo and this week’s episode ended on a sweet note. A sweet note that was kind of bittersweet for them since they both think the worst of their situation.
Lovers of the Red Sky: I’m completely caught on this show and it’s battling for first place in my favorite shows of the moment. I’m really enjoying this historical drama, a lot more than I anticipated since historical dramas aren’t my favorite. Still, both Ahn In Yeop and Kim Yoo Jung are fantastic actors and are really doing their thing in this show.
Hometown Cha Cha Cha: Another fantastic week of fresh episodes. I just adore this show so much. The village continues to charm the socks right off of me and while I feel bad for the second lead, I’m sorry dude but Hye Jin is not meant for you. I ship Hye Jin and Dong Sik so hard and I’m even loving the hell out of the romance between the cop and Hye Jin’s best friend. I just love how stinkin’ wholesome this entire show is and I’m already thirsty for more. This show makes me so happy and there isn’t a male lead that I’m loving more than I’m loving Chief Hong right now. I can’t deny it anymore, either. *swoon*
Lost: The pacing for this show is slow but I don’t think that takes away from my enjoyment. I’m really liking the way that each story being told here is slowly unrolling and I have every faith that once everything is out in the open, the wait will have been worth it. There’s a lot going on with every single character and seeing each of them live their lives while they’re all just so damn sad has me cheering them all on. From Kang Jae to Bu Yeong to Tak and Min Jung, their stories are interesting and I’m completely invested.
Yumi’s Cells: Ooh, early days dating is captured so cutely in this week’s episodes. It’s kind of weird for me to not despise Ahn Bo Hyun in a drama since I haven’t watched him in anything since Itaewon Class but oh man, I love him to pieces in this show. He’s really doing his character justice. Kim Go Eun’s character doesn’t stand a chance and I’m so here for seeing both of their characters grow together in love. Happy sigh.
Dali and the Cocky Prince: I started this show over the weekend even though I’m already watching 10 other shows but I’m not mad about it. I really enjoy Kim Min Jae and am looking forward to what he’ll bring to this new role. So far, so good and I’m already looking forward to the next episodes.
What I Listened To
This song dropped on Friday and there isn’t a thing that I don’t love about it. From Chris Martin’s vocals to each of our boys shining in their own way, making this song just super special for all of us BTS fans around the world. I really like this collaboration and seeing the genuine respect that Coldplay and BTS have for each other makes this song even more special.
Yeah, I’m still streaming and loving the hell out of this song. I haven’t paid much attention to any of their Japanese songs outside of this one and Let Go but these two are some of my top songs of their entire discography so I should really check their other songs out. But yeah, I’m streaming this song a lot more these days than some others that are on my regular rotation.
This is probably one of the only songs that I can sing along to the entire song…even Suga’s part. So it’s constantly playing. I’m always streaming this video or the song on Spotify. This song slaps so freaking hard. Love it.
What I Got

You’d think that I would stop buying books if I’m not reading them but my dumbass just keeps on adding to my TBR pile every month and this book is the newest addition. I love this series so getting short stories for each of the couples that I’ve come to love sounds like a good time to me so I’ll definitely be making room in week to read this.

So much travel, you’re about to have a busy two months! My birthday is in October and I’m still in denial that the month is basically over.
Is Squid Game super gory?
Hey Amber Elise! Ooh, Happy Birthday Month!! 🙂
Yes, Squid Game is gory but still good. Definitely worth the watch.
Wheew you are busy with good fun filled stuff. I’m hoping to get back into the Kdrama scene soon-we shall see. I see I have a lot of good kdramas to watch which is something to look forward to. I like My Universe and I watched some footage of their recording and Coldplay was very impressed with JK and the group. I see JK isusing his English skills a lot more which is great! I love Spring Day such a good song and SUGA is just gangsta! Luv that guy! #sugamybiaswrecker
Yeah. Did you watch the documentary thing with Chris Martin from Coldplay? I thought it was such a great video.
Spring Day is one of my favorite songs ever. It’s such a great song!
I don’t like thinking of us going into the second October of this pandemic but we are aren’t we? That’s depressing, but it is nice to think that this October the situation here seems a little more under control… I think anyway. It does sound like you’ve got a busy month coming, I thought it was busy I had a couple of weekends booked up and an opticians appointment to fit in. I didn’t know Coldplay had released a song with BTS, i am now off to listen because that sounds interesting.
We sure are in our second October of this damn pandemic and it sucks hella ass.
I really love the Coldplay and BTS song. It’s so good. Let me know what you think! They released a bunch of videos and content along with the song so it’s been pretty awesome!
