Eye Candy Friday: Ku Woong from Yumi’s Cells

Posted January 28, 2022 by Rowena in Dramas, Features | 0 Comments

Eye Candy Friday is something that I’ve been doing since I first started my personal blog way back in 2003. That first personal blog is long gone but I’ve never really grown out of the eye candy phase. I’m always up for some eye candy. Whether it’s a character from a book (male or female, I don’t discriminate), a character from a movie or TV Show, if I loved them and want to gush about how much I loved them, you’ll find them here. Thanks for coming along for the ride.

This week, I’m featuring Ku Woong from Yumi’s Cells. When I tell you this guy was fine…this guy was hella fine in this show. I didn’t think I’d ever get over how much I hated his character from Itaewon Class but, I’m over it because I love this guy. I loved him so much that I immediately jumped into another show with his as the male lead and loved that show too. There were times when Woong drove me up the wall but that guy was too damn fine for me to stay mad at him. Look at him…do you blame me?

Until next week…enjoy!

This week, I’m featuring Choi Taek from Reply 1988. Park Bo Gum was the reason that I watched that show and Choi Taek was my absolute favorite part of that show. He did such a great job bringing Taek to life and I just adored him so much. Choi Taek was just as precious to me as he was to everyone in he neighborhood and I was Team Taek from the jump. Even though I loved the hell out of Jung Hwan, for me, it was always Taek. These were some of my favorite moments that aren’t spoilerish so..check it out!

Until next week…enjoy!

The Wednesday Five: Acting Pairs I Wanna See in a Drama

Posted January 19, 2022 by Rowena in Dramas, Features | 1 Comment

I’m a list person. I have a list for every single thing in my life from a to-do list, a list of books that I want to read, a running shopping list, and in the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing different k-entertainment lists that I’ve been keeping track of. You’ll be seeing my top 5 lists of stuff like my current celebrity crushes, my favorite k-drama female protagonists, my favorite k-drama male protagonists, my to-be-watched k-dramas, and you know, stuff like that.

This week’s Wednesday Five will feature the Acting Pairs I Wanna see in a Drama.

1. Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo

I’d love to see these two as main leads in a grown folks k-drama. I adore Gong Yoo’s fine ass and I’d watch him sleep if he recorded it. I love watching him in k-dramas (even in that god awful Big k-drama that I just could not get behind) and I’d love to watch him in a suspenseful romantic drama with Song Hye Kyo. Something where they’re both big-shot lawyers who hate each other but have to work together to take down the bad guys and through it all, they fall in love.

2. Park Seo Joon and Lee Hyeri

It is not a secret that Park Seo Joon is my #1 boo thang. I love him like whoa and I’ve been waiting ever so patiently for his next project. I would love to see him in a romantic comedy with my #1 girl crush, Lee Hyeri. I’d love to see the two of them in a show where he had a rough childhood and the minute he could get out, he left and never came back. But then his horrible parents died and he comes back to town for the funeral and to clean up their space and runs into his best friend’s younger sister, played by Hyeri, who brightens his world up and changes his jaded view of life…and they fall in love and live happily ever after.

3. Park Hyung Sik and Go Yoon Jung

I love me some Park Hyung Sik and I just finished watching him in Happiness so I’m already looking forward to his next project. The actress that I’m curious and very interested in seeing him work with is Go Yoon Jung. I saw Yoon Jung in Law School and really enjoyed her acting so I’d love to see her in a light romantic comedy where she’s our struggling female lead who runs across her high school crush, played by Hyung Sik of course, years later and he asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend to get his family off his back and …they fall in love.

4. Park Bo Gum and Han Hyo Joo

Park Bo Gum and Han Hyo Joo are so freaking beautiful that I would love to watch the two of them be beautiful together in a k-drama. I can see them doing the whole best friends to lovers thing. He has been in love with her since they were kids but they could never get their timing right and when he starts to move on, she develops feelings for him and goes through goofy hell trying to get her man and in the end, he realizes that of course it’s always been her and they get married and live happily ever after.

5. Lee Je Hoon and Nam Ji Hyun

I have enjoyed these two in every single drama that I’ve watched them in and I would love to see them pair up in a drama where they’re both married to each other but living secret lives as like, I don’t know, assassins or something and well, I’d love to see them in a Mr. and Mrs. Smith kind of drama where they find out that they’re both bad asses after they get married and then they join forces to find out who killed their dog and then rain hellfire down on those bitches. Yeah, I want to see them in that.

Can you tell that I read a lot of romance novels? LOL. I still want all of this.

Which acting pairs would you love to see star in a k-drama together? Share in the comments!

Eye Candy Friday: Lee Yool from 100 Days My Prince

This week, I’m featuring Lee Yool from 100 Days My Prince. This was my introduction to actor D.O. from EXO and I am so freaking here for it. I’m here for it, for him, and everything in between. He’s my bias wrecker from EXO and I thought he did an excellent job of bringing Lee Yool to life. He had a certain charm that I just couldn’t resist so check him out for yourself. He is so damn fine and that is why he’s this week’s eye candy.

Until next week…enjoy!

The Wednesday Five: Favorite OST Songs

Posted January 12, 2022 by Rowena in Dramas, Features | 2 Comments

I’m a list person. I have a list for every single thing in my life from a to-do list, a list of books that I want to read, a running shopping list, and in the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing different k-entertainment lists that I’ve been keeping track of. You’ll be seeing my top 5 lists of stuff like my current celebrity crushes, my favorite k-drama female protagonists, my favorite k-drama male protagonists, my to-be-watched k-dramas, and you know, stuff like that.

This week’s Wednesday Five will feature my Favorite OST Songs.

1. Sweet Night by V from BTS for Itaewon Class

This is one of my favorite songs, like, ever. Itaewon Class is my absolute favorite k-drama, it being my first drama probably has a lot to do with why but this song was such a huge part of why I loved it. I didn’t even know who V was when I watched this show and the one time that I heard it play during an episode, I immediately looked the song up on YT and played it over and over again. It’s such a sweet song and I just love it so stinkin’ much.

2. Every Second by Baekhyun from Record of Youth

Every time this song played on Record of Youth, I knew that I was about to ugly cry and it was true every single time. This song was my introduction to EXO. Being a BTS stan, I don’t listen to a lot of EXO stuff, at least I didn’t before hearing this song. Now, I know everyone’s names and I have a bias in their group though I don’t own any merch or anything like that. Baekhyun is my bias from EXO and this song is just one of my favorites from him. I also think I like this song more than I liked the show, Record of Youth.

3. Breath by Sam Kim from It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

This is another song that made me ugly cry every time it started playing on the show. It’s such an emotional song and pairs really well with the couple in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. Sam Kim has such a beautiful singing voice and I listen to this song at least once a week even though I don’t ugly cry anymore. I love this song so much.

4. It’s Definitely You by Jin and V of BTS for Hwarang

Are you guys surprised that another BTS song made it onto my list? Can I be any more obvious that I’m a huge fan of their work? V is my bias and his singing voice melts me every time I hear it and pairing him with Seokjin brings together two beautiful voices that bring me so much joy. I love singing this song even though I never finished the drama. It’s just a damn good song.

5. Everytime by Chen and Punch from Descendants of the Sun

This was the first Korean song that I actually took the time to learn and I know this entire song by heart now. I wasn’t a huge fan of the show that this song is from but this song is too damn good and I just love singing along to it.

There are a lot of other songs that I absolutely love from all of the shows that I watch but these five songs are my top favorites.

Do you have favorite songs from the k-dramas that you watch? Any OST songs that I should add to my playlist? Share in the comments!
