Happy Monday, everyone! I hope everyone had a great week in books and that you got everything done on your to do lists. My week was pretty chill though my weekend was hella busy. We had basketball games this week and my girls won all of their games so yay for them.
Meghan played against Westmont on Thursday night so the whole Wilson gang drove out to Costa Mesa because it was a pretty big game for Meghan. She didn’t play particularly well against this team in the first round of Conference Play so she needed a big game against them that night (for personal pride) and boy did she pull through. She had a fantastic game. She didn’t score as much as she hoped but she made hella hustle plays on defense and all throughout the game, she showed that she belonged on that court. I love watching my Meg play.
Something pretty awesome that happened at Bren and Ken’s game on Friday though…so before each game, we stand and they play a recording of the national anthem before team introductions. On Friday, the PA system went out after the first 15 seconds of the song and instead of waiting for it to come back up, my sister Delene’s mother in law led the crowd in finishing the national anthem ourselves and it was one of the coolest things ever because the crowd was pretty diverse and everyone had their right hand over their heart and not one single person didn’t sing along. It was the best national anthem I’ve ever witnessed. Lots of solidarity there…until the game started and the trash talking began. Haha, it was fun while it lasted.
Now, onto the books…

Being bad never felt so good, in the third novel in Alisha Rai’s sexy Forbidden Hearts series!
Well-behaved women don’t lust after men who love to misbehave.
Heiress Evangeline Chandler knows how to keep a secret . . . like her life-long crush on the tattooed hottie who just happens to be her big brother’s friend. She’s a Chandler, after all, and Chandlers don’t hook up with the help. Then again, they also don’t disobey their fathers and quit their respectable jobs, so good-girl rules may no longer apply.
Gabriel Hunter hides the pain of his past behind a smile, but he can’t hide his sudden attraction to his friend’s sheltered little sister. Eve is far too sweet to accept anything less than forever and there’s no chance of a future between the son of a housekeeper and the town’s resident princess.
When a wedding party forces Eve and Gabe into tight quarters, keeping their hands off each other will be as hard as keeping their clothes on. The need that draws them together is stronger than the forces that should shove them apart . . . but their sparks may not survive the explosion when long-buried secrets are finally unearthed.
I started this book at about 11:45 PM last night and only read a couple of chapters before calling it a night but I couldn’t wait…I had to start it. I’m looking forward to getting to know both Eve and Gabe. I just know that I’m going to enjoy this one. I’m super sad that it’s the end of the road for this series. 🙁
What I Read
Runaway Groom by Lauren Layne | 5 out of 5
Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews | 4.25 out of 5
Living Out Loud by Staci Hart | 3 out of 5
One Fell Sweep by Ilona Andrews | 4.75 out of 5
What a Difference a Duke Makes by Lenora Bell | 4 out of 5
My favorite reads of the last couple of weeks are definitely Runaway Groom by Lauren Layne
and One Fell Sweep by Ilona Andrews
. Runaway Groom was such a fun read that kept me laughing and happy sighing all over the place while One Fell Sweep had me gripped with adventure after adventure and Sean Evans? OMGILOVEHIMSOMUCH. He’s such a dreamboat! Both books were fantastic!
My least favorite read of the week goes to Living Out Loud by Staci Hart
. It wasn’t a bad book but the heroine got on my nerves, the story started off slow but overall the book got better and the heroine wises up before the books ends so while I liked the book, I didn’t love it nearly as much as I loved the other books I read.
