This week’s TV Tuesday post is a farewell post to one of the only shows that I watched religiously every week since its debut…For the People.
For the People (2018)

Set in the Southern District of New York Federal Court, brand new lawyers work for both the defense and the prosecution as they handle the most high profile and high stakes cases in the country – all as their personal lives intersect.
This show followed a bunch of lawyers on both sides of the court as they handled big time cases and it also showed the relationships formed between all of the lawyers. Friendships, relationships, etc… This is one of the only shows that Brenna and I watched together. We don’t like a lot of the same shows since she likes a bunch of those stupid ass reality shows (like Paradise Island, The Bachelor, The Ace Family, etc..) and I prefer my entertainment scripted. We both watched For the People every week and we had discussions about what happened and I’m going to miss that.
A few weeks ago, I read online that this show was canceled and here is the conversation I had with Brenna right after learning the news.
We’re both pretty hurt because even though the writers gave the show a pretty solid ending, there was so much potential in the stories and the relationships forming between all of the different characters. We’ll never see if anything ever blossoms between Leonard and Kate Littlejohn. We’ll never see the friendship between Sandra and Kate Littlejohn grow and solidify. We’ll never know if Seth and Allison ever get back together or if Jay finds love. We’ll never see Judge Byrne on another jury duty adventure and we’ll never see Tina hand out another case again. Wahhh.
This show was good and I enjoyed the hell out of it so I’m going to miss the hell out of it. Damn you, ABC, damn you.
But thanks to the wonderful cast for bringing this show to life every week for the last two seasons. It’s been a fun ride.
