Monthly Recap: June & July 2017

I have been sorely lacking in getting any posts written for this blog. I’ve been busy, lazy, not in the mood…you name it, I was it. I’m slowly starting to get back in the thick of things so wish me luck. I missed my June monthly recap so I’ll just add the jist of things here. It’s not like I have much to report, book wise for June anyway.

What I Did

Bren, Ken, & Cher graduated from High School and Makaela was promoted from middle school to High School. Bren and Ken will be attending our local junior college while Cher leaves for Utah this coming Friday to start her freshman year of college at BYU, Provo. Makaela has joined the North High Volleyball team and I’m sure she’s going to do great things.

We met Lakers rookie Kyle Kuzma in Las Vegas. In July, we traveled to Las Vegas for the girls last Club tournament with the Mustangs. It was hot as hell and the girls played game after game after game and on our first night of games, we had dinner at Raising Caines and one of the newest Lakers ate right next to us so of course we welcomed him to Los Angeles and got a picture with him. Fun times!

Throwback Thursday (21)

As usual, this week’s Throwback Thursday features my girls. Bren, Ken and Cher. This was in sixth grade, we drove into L.A. County after winning state with our club basketball team in San Diego. They wanted to go straight to the cemetery to share their gold medals with my Mom. Mom died in April and this picture was taken in June or July after her funeral so there’s no headstone yet.

They look like babies. Gah, they’re so grown now. 🙁

Throwback Thursday (19)

This week’s Throwback Thursday features my gals. Bren, Ken and Cher. Brenna, Makenna and Cheridan were 5 years old in this picture. This was before they started Kindergarten.

This picture was taken at the elementary school’s family fun night. A night where the school puts on carnival for the families and there are games, activities, food trucks and all that other goodness. This night was a fun one. The kids had a great time, we ate kettle corn and Asian tacos.

These three lovelies are seniors in high school and will be graduating in the next few months. I’m so sad that they’re not this little anymore. I miss them at this age. Gah.

Lunch with the 99’s

One of my absolute favorite things to do is to have lunch with the 99’s. If you’re new to this blog and my life, then the 99’s are Brenna (my daughter), Cheridan (my sister’s kid), Makenna (my other sister’s kid) and Kaleo (my other, other sister’s kid). Kaleo lives in Colorado so it’s not often that he comes to lunch with us and for this post, he wasn’t there…it was just the girls.

So we’re at Panda Express having lunch and the following conversation happens:

Cheridan: I wonder how much rice these guys have to make a day. I would hate that job. I’m still salty that you guys kept making fun of my rice for the graduation party.
Brenna: Yeah, I get nervous when I have to make big pots of rice.
Makenna: It’s okay, someone else made worse rice than you at the graduation, Cher.
Brenna: Oh yeah, Chloe!
Cheridan: Oh well, someone was making her cry maybe. Was that back when her and Raymond [Chloe’s ex boyfriend] were ending?
Brenna: Well her tears didn’t go in the rice cause it was dry.

Bwahahahahahaha, this is the kind of shit that they talk about and it never fails to crack me the heck up.

I love my girls!
