I saw this holiday tag over at Grace’s blog this week and wanted to give it a go to try to get in the holiday spirit. The original blog post is over at Du Livre.
Auntie Brought a Pie
A long time ago, I tried to get into this series because so many of my favorite bloggers read and adored this series but I read the first book and wasn’t feeling it so I never picked up any of the other books in the series but it’s still hella popular with like 40+ books in the series. What even???
Time for the Main Course
Burn for You (Hidden Legacy #1) by Ilona Andrews
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren
I have adored each and every single one of these books this year. They’ve all gotten 5 stars from me and for good reasons. They’re damn great romance stories. If you haven’t read them, fix that! I promise you won’t regret it.
It’s Time for a Toast
My favorite debut author of the year goes to Helen Hoang because I adored her first book so, so much. I loved the reverse Pretty Woman theme she went with for Stella and Michael. I loved seeing them fall in love with each other, just the way that they are. Their love was a special kind and I ate it right up. I’m looking forward to reading more from Helen Hoang. Her writing style is just fabulous.
Anyone for Dessert?
Are you guys surprised that Lauren Layne made the books tag cut? You shouldn’t be because I love the heck out of her writing and her characters and just her books overall. She writes my favorite kind of romances. Contemporary romances that are smart, fun and steamy. Runaway Groom is one of my 5 star reads this year because it hit all of my high notes. This was such a fun and fluffy read and I can’t recommend it enough.
We’re Having Leftovers
For this one, I went with a book that I re-read this year and this book. I would happily read this book over and over and over again. I love it so much that I recommend it first to anyone looking for a great NA read. I’ve been on Brenna to read this book for ages and she’s slowly making her way through it and loving it too. Gah, G and Wellsy are the best!
