Eye Candy Friday: Jake Becker

Posted August 26, 2016 by Rowena in Features | 12 Comments

ECF This week’s Eye Candy Friday is Jake Becker from Sustained by Emma Chase. Sustained is the second book in the Legal Briefs series and it’s my absolute favorite book of the bunch…just like Jake is my favorite hero in that series.

I love how Jake went from this:

“So…what’s the typical schedule with the whole dating thing? How long before one gets to the actual fucking?”

“Three dates,” they all answer simultaneously.

My eyebrows raise. “Three dates? Seriously? Are you guys, like…more religious than I ever knew?”
To this:

“Oooh…Aunt Chelsea called Jake the D-word!”

Rory’s voice carries into the kitchen. “Dipshit?”

“No.”

“Dumbass?”

“No.”

“Douchebag?”

“What’s a douchebag?”

“Rory!” Chelsea and I yell at exactly the same time.”
And this:

“When you take everything else away — money, clothes, nice cars, big houses — all a man has is his word. That he says exactly what he says. If a man doesn’t have his word, he´s not a man.”
But mostly this:

“I want her – this fearless, stunning woman. And I want the kids. Those perfect, awful, amazing children – whom she loves with every inch of her soul. I want them to be mine. Mine to hold, mine to protect and teach. Their joy, their laughter, their love. I want to come home to it, bask in it, be the reason for it.

But even more than that, I want to deserve them.”
Seriously, this was me for most of this book:

I loved seeing the growth in Jake’s character. He went from being the womanizing bachelor to this really stand up guy who fell in love with not just the heroine of the book but her nieces and nephews…and there are a lot of nieces and nephews. I really loved how he became that family’s champion and he was ready to do anything and everything to make sure that they were alright.

This is how I pictured Jake in my head, complete with tattoos and kids:

Jake Becker Jake Becker 2 If you haven’t read this book, I urge to fix that because it’s a definite treat. It’s charming, funny and just a whole lot of fun. You won’t regret it.

Eye Candy Friday (4)

Posted August 19, 2016 by Rowena in Features | 4 Comments

ECF This week’s Eye Candy Friday goes to a guy that had me wrapped around his fingers from the moment he stepped onto the pages of his book. Drew Baylor aka Battle Baylor from The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan.

The Hook Up kicks off the Game On series by Kristen Callihan and introduces Drew “Hottie of My Heart” Baylor. Drew is the star quarterback at his college and he’s led his team to two national titles and is the big man on campus. He’s the guy everyone wants a piece of…except Anna Jones.

She’s confused as to why the big celebrity on campus would want to be with her. She’s not a football groupie. She’s not into sports….but he is and seeing him work his butt off to win her over melted me a little with each passing page.

I adored him from the moment he thought this:

“I’m not going to say it was love at first sight. No, it was more like oh, hell-yes-please, I’ll have that. With a helping of right-the-fuck-now on the side.”
Drew was real. He was hot and he was a big time softy that I loved the hell out of and this is the guy that I pictured when reading Drew’s book.

Drew Baylor Drew Baylor II I loved Drew because he said things that just melted me into a puddle of love. Stuff like this:

“You have my heart, Anna. And every time I had to walk away from you, every time you walked away from me, it felt like it was being ripped out of my chest. It fucking hurt, Anna.”
*swoon*

So it was no brainer. Of course Drew was going to be this week’s Eye Candy Friday. If you haven’t read his book, you should fix that because it’s a good one. I promise.

Eye Candy Friday (3)

ECF These days, I’m doing Eye Candy Friday a little differently. I used to pick a hot guy and just post pictures of them but this time around, I’m casting my favorite heroes in the books I read and they’re going to be my Eye Candy Friday. I started doing things this way with the Psy/Changelings heroes but this week’s book boyfriend goes to Josh Tanner from For Better or Worse by Lauren Layne.

For Better or Worse is the second book in the Wedding Belles series and it’s one of my favorite series of the year. I am enjoying the hell out of this series and Josh Tanner only adds to that love.

Josh Tanner is Heather Fowler’s (a Wedding Belle) next door neighbor and he’s keeping her up at night. She is not a fan of Josh Tanner but don’t worry, he wins her over. Josh is my kind of hero. He’s got this flirty spice thing going on and I ate every interaction he had with Heather up.

Heather didn’t stand a chance against him and neither did I. Especially when he would say things like:

“You might not love me yet, 4A, but you will…”
*swoon*

Here is Josh Tanner as the author (and me) sees him:

Josh 1 Josh 2 This casting is actually pretty perfect. I can totally see Chris Pratt as Josh Tanner. On top of Josh being a fantastic hero, his book is pretty much perfect. Don’t miss out on it. It comes out on August 30th so there’s not a long wait. I promise. 🙂

Eye Candy Friday (2)

Posted July 15, 2016 by Rowena in Features | 0 Comments

ECF It’s been a while since I’ve put one of these posts together and to be honest, I’ve been distracted lately with family stuff that I haven’t really been doing much or thinking about the blog. My brother Mel had open heart surgery and while he’s fine and on the mend at home now, I was scared out of my pants when I first heard so that’s where my mind has been.

During this whole time though, I’ve been watching a lot of Jane the Virgin with the girls so I’ve got Rafael Solano on the brain. So…he’s this week’s Eye Candy Friday guy. You’re welcome. 🙂

*swoon* TEAM RAFAEL!

ECF This week’s Eye Candy Friday choice is easy for me. It’s Friday and I’m still not over last week’s season finale of Game Thrones so this week’s Eye Candy Friday dude? It’s Jon Snow. Because…

You’re welcome. 🙂
