It’s Been Two Years…

Posted May 11, 2016 by Rowena in Personal | 4 Comments

Seko
…since my brother Seko died and I can’t believe how fast that time has gone.

In the last two years our family has been extremely busy. We added a new baby nephew to our family (shout out to Baby Rocky!), we have two missionaries out in the mission field, the 97’s graduated from high school and started college. The 99’s and Meg won Championship rings, Chelsea started trainingto be a flight attendant and Maleah started high school. We’ve been busy planning Chloe’s wedding to Markus and 2016 has just been one thing after another but today, I’m not thinking about any of the million things that I need to do for work or stressing about Chloe’s wedding. Today, I’m thinking about my brother. Today, I’m missing him something fierce.

So I thought I’d share some pictures of Seko, just because I’m thinking of him.

Seko_Ween

Seko and I posing at Ingrid’s wedding in Vegas. This was the last picture that we took together and it’s my favorite one.

Team Wilson Gang

This was at our first Relay for Life. The only RfL that Seko made it to as he was sick the next year. We now walk in remembrance of him. I’m not in this picture. I don’t even know where I was…not walking on the track though. Haha.

Wlison Boys

The Wilson brothers and Dad. These guys fought all the time but in the end, I’m glad that they were all at peace with one another and the love they have for each other shines. They fought a lot because they all cheered on different football teams.

Team Wilson Gang II

The Wilson 9 with Chloe on her high school graduation day.

It really bums me out that we’ll never again get to take a family picture with all 9 of us but I take comfort in the fact that you’re no longer in pain and that you’re resting in peace with Mom, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Pete and Uncle Johnny and all of our other family members.

I love and miss you brother and God be with you til we meet again.

Throwback Thursday (8)

TBT

This week’s throwback picture features two little munchkins who are grown now. Ahbrey and Brooke.

photo (40)

These are my brother Pete’s kids and Ahbrey is in 4th grade now while Brooke is in 2nd. Ahbrey already has a phone, has dyed her hair, gets her eyebrows done bi-weekly and has two piercings. Yeah, crazy huh? While Brooke is little Miss makeup. She’s going to be one of those teenagers that has her own YouTube channel and teaches people who to contour correctly and all that madness. But this picture? This picture reminds me of when they were the cutest little human beings and when Brooke was fat. She’s so skinny now. Woot!

Week in Books (15)

Posted March 22, 2016 by Rowena in Features | 0 Comments

week-in-books

This week went by really fast but I got a lot of reading done. This week was also Lukey’s 6th birthday so we celebrated that at Disneyland (on Thursday) and then again on Saturday at Mulligans (a family fun center for all you non-So Cal residents).

Here’s our turn up picture at the ever famous Birthday Green Wall.

Lukes 6th Birthday Turn Up

As you can probably guess, we had load of fun for Lukey’s birthday.

…and now, on with the books.

Currently Reading

Eight Ways to Ecstasy
Eight Ways to Ecstasy (Art of Passion #2 ) by Jeanette Grey.

In this stunningly sensual sequel to Seven Nights to Surrender, acclaimed author Jeanette Grey reunites readers with a young artist and the man who’ll stop at nothing to have her . . .

EIGHT WAYS TO ECSTASY

Kate Reid’s whirlwind romance with billionaire playboy Rylan Bellamy complicated her life in ways she’d worked to avoid. She’d fallen hard for his flirtatious charm and given him the one thing no other man had: her trust. Just as Kate began to imagine a future with Rylan, everything fell apart.

Now she’s starting over in New York…but even the glittering streets of Manhattan can’t erase the memory of Rylan knocking her off her feet and sweeping her into the most erotic, unforgettable week of her life.

It’s been months, and Rylan still can’t forget Kate. Months since he bared his soul at her feet. Months since he drove away the only woman to ever make him feel. Kate changed his world and now Rylan is determined to win her back-no matter what it takes. After crossing an ocean to reach her, he makes a deal with Kate: One more week, for one more chance. Now it’s up to Rylan to show Kate all the ways they fit together . . . and prove that this player has met his perfect match.

I’m just about done with this book and it is just as enjoyable as the last book. Rylan is just as sexy and mysterious though he’s trying to be less mysterious so that Kate (and us, the readers) can get to know him. He wants to share himself with Kate and it’s hitting me right in the feels because he was so standoffish in the last book, so reserved and seeing him let go…I’m digging it.

Read

Nobody but You

Nobody but You (Cedar Ridge #3) by Jill Shalvis | 4 out of 5
All Chained Up (Devils Rock #1) by Sophie Jordan | 4 out of 5
Ignite (Wildwood #1) by Karen Erickson | 4 out of 5
Undecided by Julianna Keyes | 4.25 out of 5
This One Moment by Stina Lindenblatt | 2 out of 5
Dirty (Dive Bar #1) by Kylie Scott | 4 out of 5

My favorite read of the week is hands down Undecided by Julianna Keyes. The romance between Crosbie and Nora was too freaking sweet. I loved it. I adored Crosbie and thought he was such a fantastic love interest. I loved that she fell for the best friend, the wingman and not the main attraction. I loved that Crosbie was afraid he wouldn’t get the girl and that Nora proved him wrong. I loved these two even when they were getting on my nerves with their boneheaded thoughts and actions. The feels were real in this book.

My least favorite read of the week goes to This One Moment by Stina Lindenblatt. I could not connect with either of the main leads. Nolan’s reasons and thought processes made me want to punch his lights out and Hailey got on my nerves too. They were best friends, they should have talked more…especially since they were trying to find their way back to each other and the whole thing with the actress and Nolan going back? Hurting Hailey the way that he did? Ugh. Wasn’t a fan of that. He should have handled that a lot better than he did. I just…wasn’t a fan of a lot that happened in the book.

Reviewed

Fully Ignited (Boston Fire #3) by Shannon Stacey

New

Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan
Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

For Review

None.

I didn’t get any new review books since I went a little crazy requesting books last week. I’m waiting on one eARC but I haven’t gotten that yet. I’ll list it next week.

There you have it, my week in books. How did your week go?

Throwback Thursday (6)

Posted March 17, 2016 by Rowena in Features | 0 Comments

TBT

These three have been close for as long as I can remember. They’re still extremely close with their different personalities and hectic schedules. They fight and bicker like sisters but they’re tight as can be.

This picture shows that that’s always been the case when it comes to them.

L-R: Cheridan, Brenna, Kenna

Haha, Kenna’s teeth look like Lukey’s teeth now, Brenna is still the middle man for everything concerning the three of these guys and Cheridan is still as goofy as she appears in this picture.

99s

This is them now and as you can see, they still like to stand in the same order. Haha.
