Three Things on My Happy Planner Wish List

Posted May 11, 2017 by Rowena in Personal | 8 Comments

Thanks to Ames, I’m addicted to decorative planning. I’ve been decorative planning for over a year now and it’s an expensive addiction but I can’t seem to help myself. Every week, I’m eyeing every sale at Michaels in hopes that I can get something else on my never ending planner accessories wish list. I want it all and my bank account keeps laughing and laughing at me so needless to say, I don’t have all of the things…but I will. 🙂

My planner of choice is the classic Happy Planner from Me and My Big Ideas (MAMBI). Their planners are perfect for me. I love the designs of each month, the monthly currently pages, the weekly vertical layouts, and the disc bound system that they use. I hate spiral bound notebooks and planners because I hate having to write on Wednesday with the dumb spiral getting in my way. I love that with a Happy Planner, I can take the pages out and get my plan on

MAMBI is also really good about supplying me with my favorite planner accessories. There are an accessory and expansion pack for a whole lot of stuff but they don’t have everything that I want so this post will serve as my wish list for the stuff I wish MAMBI would release.

Here are the things that I want MAMBI to come out with…

1. Half Box (pictured right) and Full Box Stickers. I’m obsessed with these little half box stickers to note special activities that I have planned but the MAMBI sticker books don’t have a whole lot of them and not all of the ones that they do have are just regular, plain ol’ half and full boxes. The ones that I often see in the sticker books are boxes that say “To Do” or “To Buy” or “To Go” or whatever else. That’s what I want. Regular, plain ol’ half boxes and I’d like a whole page of just half boxes like they sell on Etsy. When I buy on Etsy, that gets expensive really quickly because you have to pay shipping on top of the already expensive per sheet pricing so, I’d really like to see more half boxes in a MAMBI sticker book.

2. A sports themed sticker book. I have mad love for the MAMBI sticker books and before the latest batch of sticker book releases, I had them all. Now I have three new books that I need to find and purchase so that my sticker book collection can be complete. There are all kinds of sticker books too. There’s a Mom book, a Teacher book, a Seasonal one, and a bunch of others but I find myself wanting more themed books. Like…one for sports. I want a sticker book with a bunch of sports related stickers. Full boxes with different sports sayings on them, pages full of the different sports balls, pages of score trackers, I think there are plenty of ideas for sports related stickers for the Happy Planner and I’m sitting over here…patiently waiting for MAMBI to come out with it.

3. A book nerd themed sticker book. Another idea that I have for a sticker book is a book nerd themed one. As you all know, I am a total book nerd. I’d love a sticker book catered to readers. It can have currently reading stickers, reading quote full box stickers, cute books and bookshelf stickers, rating stickers, weekly reading tracker stickers, little bookish icons, library bookish stickers, and well, you get the idea. This is one of my biggest wishes for MAMBI to make a reality.

So there you have it, three things that I am wishing for at the moment. I’m sure more things will make their way onto this wish list as time goes on but for now, I am hoping and praying that these things become a reality so that I can make these things mine. Sure, I can learn how to do my own stickers but meh…I can’t be arsed to learn or even buy the equipment to make my own stickers so I’m going to be over here, hoping and wishing for these things.

Are you a decorative planner? Which planner do you use? Do you have a running wish list of planner things you want? Share your wishlists in the comments!

Top 5 Wednesday: Current Favorites that Aren’t Books

Posted February 8, 2017 by Rowena in Features | 14 Comments

T5W

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at Ginger Reads Lainey but is hosted by Sam at Thoughts on Tomes. You can read more about this meme on the Goodreads Group here.

This weeks topic is: Current Favorites that Aren’t Books

Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from books and talk about some other things you’ve been obsessed with. These all don’t have to be in the same category. Mix it up! What TV shows have you been enjoying, makeup you’ve been wearing, food you’ve been eating, etc.??

I’m going out of order this month since I skipped last week’s and am going to skip next week’s prompt and instead do this week’s prompt, next week that way I can come back the following week and be all caught up. If that makes any sense.

I took a break from this feature for the last part of last year and then last month as well but I’m hoping to get back on the Top 5 Wednesday train this month. Wish me luck on that.

1. Shooter on USA Network.

SHOOTER is USA Network’s new conspiracy thriller based on the best-selling novel “Point of Impact” by Stephen Hunter, and the 2007 Paramount film starring Mark Wahlberg. Starring Ryan Phillippe, the series follows the journey of Bob Lee Swagger, a highly-decorated veteran who is coaxed back into action to prevent a plot to kill the President. When Swagger’s former commanding officer Isaac Johnson solicits his expertise in a clandestine operation, Swagger discovers that he has been framed and must do everything in his power to protect his family and clear his name.

I have binge watched the shit out of Season 1 of this show. I think I watched the entire season in 2, maybe 3 days but you guys, it’s so good. Ryan Phillippe plays Bobby Lee Swagger and the TV Show is a bit different from the movie. While I liked the movie, I’m enjoying the show more.

2. Happy Planners from Me and My Big Ideas.

I’ve become a happy planner addict. I have lost count of how much time I’ve spent watching Plan with Me, Weekly and Monthly Fip Throughs videos on YouTube and all in an effort to find inspiration for my own happy planner. I also spend quite a bit of time on IG, looking at everyone’s planner spreads. I have been become quite the sticker and washi tape hoarder and every week, I look forward to digging right back into my craft baskets to decorate the heck out of my planners.

I blame Ames for enabling my planner addiction but I also blame Nick and Nereyda for always posting pictures of their bullet journals because they all make me want to play around with my planner.

Brenna likes to roll her eyes when I tell her that we need to stop by Michaels or when she sees me going through my washi tape stash, preparing to decorate my planner pages and I don’t even care, I love this shit and I’m so here for it.

3. Hydro Flask.

I love my hydro flask. In an effort to drink more water this year, I got a hydro flask because I liked the look of them and I also liked that they kept my water cold all day. I don’t like room temperature water and I hate warm water so if I want to get anywhere with my drink more water goal, it’s gotta be cold water out of this hydro flask.

I have this exact one with the straw and I have small purple one that I use for hot beverages and I love that my hot chocolate, tea or whatever hot beverage I’m drinking stays hot for hours and hours.

This is the best.

4. Riverdale on The CW.

A subversive take on Archie and his friends, exploring small town life, the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome facade.

I’ve been watching this show since the first episode aired and I’m digging it. This is the show that will fill the slot that Vampire Diaries leaves and I’m pretty stoked to keep going. I like that this is a darker take on the Archie comics and Luke Perry is on it. That gets all of the yesses from my past tween Dylan McKay loving heart.

I like that in this darker version of the Archie comics, Betty and Veronica are going to be best friends instead of enemies. I like that the love triangle will be a lot more dramatic because of that. I’m not going to lie, I’m shipping Archie and Betty. That scene with them in front of Betty’s house in the pilot? Hit me right in the feels. I can’t wait to see their slow burn.

I’m also looking forward to all of the sleuthing that will be going on and getting to know Jughead more. I’m also looking forward to the demise of Archie’s super creepy affair with Ms. Grundy.

5. MAMBI Value Pack Stickers from Me and My Big Ideas.

I cannot get enough of these things. There are quite a few sticker books to collect and I’m working on getting them all. I can’t help myself. I love adding stickers to my weekly and monthly planning spreads and goodness, they’re just so super cute.

There are plenty to choose from too. They have a color-coordinated sticker books, a Mom sticker book, a teacher sticker book. You name it, they have a sticker book for it and I’m pretty sure there will be more to release as well. They have awesome quote stickers and just all around pretty stickers. I can’t get enough of these things.

What are some of your favorite things that aren’t books?

Monthly Recap: November 2016

Posted December 1, 2016 by Rowena in Features | 10 Comments

Guys! We’re almost done with 2016. In a matter of months, my daughter will be a high school graduate. I just can’t even deal right now.

What I Did

team-wilson-gang-basketball-2016-2017

1. Lady Saxons Kick Off Potluck: Basketball season is under way and November kicked it all off. Every year, our North High Lady Saxons basketball program kicks their basketball season with a team potluck where the official rosters for all levels of basketball are introduced, meeting and greeting the newbies and being social with the oldies takes place and this year, between Brenna and Cheridan, we brought like 20 people with us. It was a good time and I’m excited for our season.
2. Lady Seahawks Kick Off Luau: Makenna’s annual fundraising luau was on the same day as our Lady Saxons Kick Off Potluck so our day started at Redondo. Makenna’s a senior this year so she did the senior siva Samoa and she did a great job. I wasn’t even mad that I had to make up a dance for her to do in less than a week. We pulled it out and she did great.
3. I turned 36: November 13th was my birthday and I turned 36. My bestie made me dinner and we hung out, laughed it up with my girls Bren and Ken. It was a low key event and I was glad. I’m a homebody so low key is how I roll. It was a good birthday so yay for another year!
4. Weendizzle turned 1: November was also my blog anniversary. I started this blog last year and have kept it up for the most part of a year. It’s grown and went through some face lifts but I’m happy with what I’m doing here (it’s more personal than anything else I’m doing right now) and I plan to keep it up in the new year.

What I Watched

Moana: My review for Moana is here and I really enjoyed it. From beginning to end, it was cute!

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life: I’ve been looking forward to this ever since I found out we were getting it and while I enjoyed it as a whole, I was disappointed too. I’ll be writing up a review of it that will go up next week so be on the look out for that. 🙂

Teen Wolf: It’s the last season for my favorite TV werewolves and supernatural friends and they’re really packing a punch with everything going on. I’m probably loving the hell out of everything because my ship is finally sailing loud and proud!! I have been in Stydia heaven for three weeks now. Ha!

Started from the bottom, now we here. 🙂

This is me right now:

I’m Beyonce, of course. Ha! I’ve waited 6 seasons for Lydia Martin to stop messing around and get her man. Looks like it’s our turn. Yay!!

What I Listened To

Moana Soundtrack: I’ve been listening to this one mostly because of my 7 year old nephew Luke (who I’ve been spending a lot of time with lately) and Brenna. Luke came to work with me last week and wanted to listen to it for 3 hours and we did. He sang his bootleg version (wrong lyrics) of every song at the top of his lungs…AT MY OFFICE! He’s lucky everyone thought he was cute. Ha!

Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic Album: This album dropped a couple of weeks ago and I haven’t listened to much else since. I’m loving every song, the feel good vibe and just Bruno Mars in general. Luke has also been heard singing the following lyrics from Versace of the Floor, “Let’s just kiss til we’re naked, baby” Ummm…yikes. Ha!

What I Got

What I Loved

sticker-stash

Planner Stickers. The entire month of November was filled with me trying to find my happy place again with all things Happy Planner. Toward the end of the month, I started getting into the bullet journal videos. I am completely inspired for next year. Since I’m now much of an artist (I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler), I’m drawn to the sticker sets that are just too cute for words. I’ve browsed Etsy more in the last month than anything else, except probably YouTube and I’ve bought so many stickers and stickers sets that I’m going to starve since I’m spending all of my lunch money but I can’t help it. I love this crap.

There you have it, folks. The month that was November 2016 for me. How was your month? What are you watching, listening and loving these days?
