The Monthly Recap posts are a way for me to take a look back and reflect on my previous month in Korean dramas. I always lose track of what I want to watch and I need these posts to keep me honest with my damn self because I be forgetting shit.
February was a short month and I didn’t watch a whole lot of dramas. I think there was a week where I didn’t watch anything outside of Seventeen in the Soop. Now that the shows that I was excited to start have begun, I’m hopeful that my March drama watching will be pick up. So let’s start this recap, shall we?
Monthly Stats
Dramas Completed: 6 | Dramas Dropped: 2 | Dramas Still Watching: 5
Dramas Reviewed: 6 | Boyfriend of the Month:
Favorite Drama: Love to Hate You | Least Favorite Drama: Strangers Again
What I Completed
Seventeen in the Soop 1
Alice in Borderland
First Love
The Interests of Love
Seventeen in the Soop 2
Of all the shows that I watched in February, my favorite watches weren’t even dramas but both seasons of Seventeen in the Soop. They were shows for resting and healing from hectic schedules and seeing Seventeen enjoy themselves and relax was very healing for me as well. I enjoyed those shows so much that I searched out other kinds of shows that aren’t just dramas and am watching a traveling show with Lee Je Hoon and Ryu Jun Yeol.
What I Dropped
Trolley
Strangers Again
These two shows are my first dropped shows of the year. I wasn’t in the mood for Trolley and am still unsure if I’ll go back to it but I didn’t want to finish Strangers Again and that bummed me out since I was really looking forward to that acting pair together. Oh well.
What I’m Still Watching
Our Blooming Youth
The Heavenly Idol
Taxi Driver 2
Jinny’s Kitchen
What I Reviewed
May I Help You?
Summer Strike
Alchemy of Souls 2: Light and Shadow
Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?
Unlock My Boss
Money Heist: Korea – Joing Economic Area, Pt. 2
Actors that Stood Out
Boo Seungkwan: I am super soft for Seungkwan from Seventeen. I adore his personality, I love how funny he is, and just everything about him. He was such a delightful part of watching Seventeen in the Soop. He made me laugh so much and with every passing episode, I loved him more and more.
Yoon Jeonghan: Jeonghan is a lot funnier than I thought he’d be. I thought that he would be a more serious and quiet but he’s not at all what I thought. That scene in Seventeen in the Soop when Mingyu is rowing him in the boat is hands down, my favorite part of the entire first season. I laughed so much and Jeonghan is me. I love him. He was a bright highlight for me in February.
Kim Ji Hoon: I enjoyed Kim Ji Hoon as Denver in Money Heist so seeing him play a completely different character in Love to Hate You was such a treat. His character was one of my favorite characters of the month. Love, love, love him.
How was your month, in all the things? Did you read or watch anything good (or bad)? Share in the comments, I’d love to catch up!

Eye Candy Friday is something that I’ve been doing since I first started my personal blog way back in 2003. That first personal blog is long gone but I’ve never really grown out of the eye candy phase. I’m always up for some eye candy. Whether it’s a character from a book (male or female, I don’t discriminate), a character from a movie or TV Show, if I loved them and want to gush about how much I loved them, you’ll find them here. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
This week, I’m featuring Kim Tae Hee from May I Help You. If you’ve watched the show then you know how freaking adorable he was and that should let you know why he’s this week’s eye candy. If you haven’t, just look at him…he’s fine as hell and that’s reason enough, haha.

Until next week…enjoy!
Watch May I Help You

Baek Dong Joo is a former professional ping pong athlete, who has just started to work as a funeral director. On her first day on the job she finds out she has the gift, or curse, to momentarily resurrect and talk to the recently deceased people when she touches them. Those people between life and death have last wishes she has to grant, or her days will be filled with a series of bad luck and accidents. Scared out of her wits by the dead coming back to life, she runs away from her work place from day one, and instead returns to studying for the civil exam she’d failed before. However, since that day, the streak of bad luck and the memory of the first client she abandoned wouldn’t leave her alone. Hence, over a year later, Baek Dong Joo decides to return to work as funeral director, in order to fulfill her duty to and the wishes of the dead people to end her karmic misfortune. She has to grant 21 wishes in total to be freed of this fate.
Kim Tae Hee, also known as Kim Jip Sa to his clients, works as a man for hire. Employed by his uncle Vincent running the newly opened errand service company “A Dime A Job” he can be hired for any odd but legal task for as little as one hundred Won. One day, Kim Tae Hee encounters Baek Dong Joo, when he was hired by her boyfriend to break up with her in his stead. After that, their paths continue to cross, and by the virtue of their jobs their fates get intertwined deeper and deeper in a series of life and death situations, surrounding the wishes of the people who had died, and the painful past it is going to unravel for both of them.

This week was for BTS Yet to Come in Busan in the theaters. I went by myself but had an absolute blast on my own and then I came home and knocked the hell out, haha. My theater wasn’t as hyped as a lot of other theaters were but my introverted ass wasn’t that mad about it…especially since I sang every song at the top of my lungs and danced my ass off all on my own, not caring one bit who was looking or listening. ApoBangpo!!
After taking a couple of weeks off from watching asian dramas together, Therese and I are back at it again. We binge-watched First Love and it was the first Japanese show that we finished. It was okay, a little too slow-moving for me and by about, episode 6, I was ready to move on. We’re prepared for our next show though and I can’t wait to see more Park Jin Young again.
I didn’t do much this week. Worked some, talked through some stuff with the unemployment office, and lined up some more work for myself and I’m not as panicked as I have been lately so I’m glad that things are finally looking up on that end. I also caught up with one of my childhood besties who met my #0 best friend, Caiden and wanted to share his experience with me. I love when my friends meet each other. Ha. I laughed the night away while talking to this friend and it’s funny how my friends and I are way past the age where we lived on the phone but that doesn’t stop us from having one hour, two hour, sometimes even four or five hour long phone conversations. I love my friends!
Now, let’s get into all of the things that I did last week…
What I Watched
Seventeen in the Soop | 5 out of 5
Alice in Borderland, Season 2 | 3.5 out of 5
BTS Yet to Come in Busan | 5 out of 5
First Love | 3 out of 5
The Interest of Love: This show is down to the last two episodes and it’s still stressing me the hell out. The ending to the last episode had me shook. I’m not mad that she did what she did but I do feel bad for home dude because it has been so hard for him to love her. I hope that she gets the peace she needs and they figure out a way to be happy together before the show ends…so I’ve got my fingers crossed.
Strangers Again: I really wanted to like this show but I don’t have the mental capacity to slog through all of this mess and to be honest, I’m not that invested in the characters after 6 episodes so I’m tossing in the towel. This was my first drop of the year.
Seventeen in the Soop 2: I started this show right after I finished watching the first season and so far, I’m loving it so much. Seeing these guys take the break they need to recover mentally warms my heart. In the last season, seeing Seungkwan made me laugh so much. His personality is just so likable and fun but to start off this season, Seungkwan made me cry. Man, my heart goes out to him and I sincerely hope that he gets the rest and relaxation he needs to keep going and I loved that Joshua was there for him. Gah, I really love these guys!

The Monthly Recap posts are a way for me to take a look back and reflect on my previous month in Korean dramas. I always lose track of what I want to watch and I need these posts to keep me honest with my damn self because I be forgetting shit.
December was a busy month for me personally but I was able to get some quality k-drama watching in and that always makes me happy. So let’s start this recap, shall we?
Monthly Stats
Dramas Watched: 12 | Dramas Completed: 4 | Dramas Dropped: 4 | Dramas Still Watching: 4
Dramas Reviewed: 9 | Boyfriend of the Month: Kim Tae Hee
Favorite Drama: May I Help You? | Least Favorite Drama: Behind Every Star
Dramas I Completed
Behind Every Star | 3 out of 5
Revenge of Others | 3.5 out of 5
May I Help You | 4 out of 5
Reborn Rich | 3.5 out of 5
These were all solid dramas but Behind Every Star was probably my least favorite of the bunch. I did enjoy the others and while I LOVE May I Help You, I don’t think any of the remaining dramas listed will make my favorite shows of the year list.
Dramas I Dropped
Extraordinary You
The First Responders
Like I said above, December was a busy month for me personally so I had to drop a couple of shows that I do hope to get back to soon(ish). It’s not that I wasn’t enjoying these, I just had a lot of stuff going on and haven’t gotten back to them. I’m hoping to finish them out this month. Wish me luck on that.
Dramas I’m Still Watching
Alchemy of Souls 2: Light and Shadow
The Forbidden Marriage
The Interest of Love
Unlock My Boss
Island, Season 1
I’m going to be so sad this coming weekend because the final season of Alchemy of Souls comes to an end. It’s my favorite show of the year so far and I’m not ready to say goodbye to Jang Uk and Naksu and the rest of the gang. The other shows are great too…I hope that they stay that way.
Dramas I Reviewed
Blind | 4.5 out of 5
Love in Contract | 4 out of 5
Extraordinary Attorney Woo | 4.5 out of 5
Alchemy of Souls | 5 out of 5
Hotel Del Luna | 4 out of 5

Gaus Electronics | 4.5 out of 5
Bad Prosecutor | 4 out of 5
Little Women | 4 out of 5
Weak Hero, Class 1 | 4.5 out of 5
Actors that Stood Out
Lee Jun Young: Lee Jun Young as Kim Tae Hee was the bomb. I’ve seen him in a few other things but this role is my favorite of his. I watched a lot of episodes of May I Help You multiple times because he’s so easy on the eyes. Gotta love the eye candy but I also really enjoyed the way that he made Kim Tae Hee shine.
Seo Ji Hoon: I don’t remember ever seeing Seo Ji Hoon in any other drama before but I really liked what he brought to Seok Jae Beom character. He was so great that I looked him up and made note of everything else he’s been in and has coming up, I’m a supporter of his now.
Steven Noh: Jane was my favorite part of the show, Behind Every Star but Lee Sang Wook was a very close second. He was so fine that I had an attitude whenever he didn’t pop on the show enough to suit me. I didn’t know who he was before but I know him now…:)

Happy Holidays, Everyone!
I hope that everyone had a good holiday season and I hope that 2023 is good to all of us. 2022 proved to be for humbling my ass and teaching me some lessons that I didn’t know I needed to learn. I’m taking those lessons into the new year with me because being unemployed has really impacted me and the confidence I thought I had. It’s been a rough couple of months mentally and going back home was the reset that I needed.
I’ve been in my head too much and there is nobody in this world that could get me out of my head and laughing like there is no tomorrow than my family. I went to Disneyland for the first time in years, I got my first pair of Minnie Mouse ears and I spent time with my Dad. I had an Aunties date with Caiden, Rocky, and Lasi and it was such a good time that I’m still smiling over our conversations from that day. My holidays were good but I’m glad to be home.
Now, let’s get into all of the things that I did last week…
What I Watched
The Glory | 4 out of 5
Harry and Meghan | 5 out of 5
I watched both of these shows with my family, and we binge-watched the hell out of them both. The first one had me shook and at the edge of my seat with each passing episode and the second made me cry. I’m glad that I watched both shows and I can’t wait for the second season of The Glory. March needs to get here…now!
May I Help You?: The last few episodes of this drama weren’t my favorite and I spent a lot of the time distracted while watching them but that doesn’t take to much away from how much I enjoyed this drama as a whole. This was my kind of drama and I am going to miss these characters, especially Kim Tae Hee and Baek Dong Joo but also Uncle Vincent and Uncle Michael. There was lots to love about this one and I am really glad that I watched it.
Reborn Rich: This show wasn’t the perfect show that I was expecting but it was compelling as hell and the characters were interesting, even if I didn’t like more than half of them. I’m glad that I let my favorite IG influencers influence me to give this one a go. It was a good, solid drama.
Summer Strike: This show started slow and I thought for sure I was going to drop it but I’m glad that I didn’t. It progressed nicely each week and ended on such a sweet note that it made me happy and I will definitely miss my friends.
Alchemy of Souls 2: Shit is poppin’ off in the Alchemy of Souls universe and I.AM.HERE.FOR.IT. Jang Uk! I need you to get it together and recognize what is right in front of your face!! AHHHH!!
The Forbidden Marriage: I really like this drama. It’s got the right mix of lightness fun and depth that I’m enjoying heaps. I am loving all of the main leads and am rooting for them all…how I can root for them, I have no idea..but I am. lol.
Unlock my Boss: I’m still enjoying this one as well. Not as much as some of the other shows that I watched last year and this isn’t my favorite show with Chae Jong Hyeop but I’m sure things will keep picking up.
The Interest of Love: I started this show in L.A. with my sister and niece last week but we only got around to watching the first episode…and that was an interesting one. I watched the second episode on my own and am definitely interested in seeing where this one goes. I can’t say that I’m completely hooked yet but there’s promise here.
