The Wednesday Five: Dramas I’m Excited for in February

Posted February 8, 2023 by Rowena in Features | 0 Comments

I’m a list person. I have a list for every single thing in my life from a to-do list, a list of books that I want to read, a running shopping list, and in the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing different k-entertainment lists that I’ve been keeping track of. You’ll be seeing my top 5 lists of stuff like my current celebrity crushes, my favorite k-drama female protagonists, my favorite k-drama male protagonists, my to-be-watched k-dramas, and you know, stuff like that.

This week’s Wednesday Five will feature the Dramas I’m Looking Forward to watching in February. Of all the dramas releasing this month, these are the dramas that I’m looking forward to watching the most.

1. Our Blooming Youth

Where to Watch: Viki
Starring: Park Hyung Shik, Jeon So Nee, Pyo Ye Jin

Park Hyung Shik is back with another drama and it’s a historical this time. His last drama was a zombie show that I enjoyed a bunch so I’m looking forward to seeing what he’ll bring to this historical drama. I haven’t seen the female lead in anything, at least she doesn’t look familiar to me so I’m looking forward to see her work in this one.

2. The Heavenly Idol

Where to Watch: Viki
Starring: Kim Min Gue, Go Bo Gyeol, Lee Jang Woo

I loved me some Kim Min Gue in Business Proposal so when I saw that he was coming out with another one, I don’t really care what it’s about…I’m in. This is the new drama so yeah, I’m in.

3. Taxi Driver 2

Where to Watch: Viki
Starring: Lee Je Hoon, Pyo Ye Jin, Kim Eui Sung

I have been waiting for the second season of this show because my gang is back together again! I loved the first season of this show and I’m hoping that the second season will be another fun ride. I’m so ready for some weekly Kim Do Gi eye candy again.

4. Call it Love

Where to Watch: Disney Plus
Starring: Kim Young Kwang, Lee Sung Kyung, Sung Joon

Another revenge drama and while I’m a little over the revenge plot, I still want to watch this one. This one looks interesting and I’m curious to see how this one pans out. She falls in love with the guy she’s using to exact her revenge??? I’m in!

5. Island, Season 2

Where to Watch: Netflix
Starring: Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo

I’m a little annoyed that Netflix split this short ass drama into two seasons but I’m going to watch this anyway cause I’m curious about how this is going to end. I’m also curious to see how things end up for both Van and Priest Yohan. They’re both fine as hell so are you surprised? LOL.

What are some dramas that you’re looking forward to diving into this month?

My TBW Pile: January 2023

Posted January 5, 2023 by Rowena in Features | 2 Comments

In an effort to organize my k-drama watching and keep track of what I’m watching, what I’m loving, and what I’m hating, I’m bringing it to the blog. Each month, I’ll put a list together of the shows that I plan on watching and then track my progress through these monthly posts. Let’s see what this month’s plan looks like, shall we?

Here’s a breakdown of how I did on last month’s TBW Pile.

Previous Month Stats

Drama’s to Watch: 14 | Drama’s Watched: 12 | Drama’s Unwatched: 2
Drama’s Started: 6 | Dramas Completed: 5 | Drama’s Dropped: 1
Favorite Watch: May I Help You | Least Favorite Watch: Behind Every Star

I didn’t get around to starting Money Heist Korea 2 and The Fabulous. I’m sure I’ll be adding those shows to this month’s line up. Fingers crossed, anyway. I did a decent job of keeping up with all of my dramas considering how busy I was in December. I did a lot of traveling and forced family fun so that cramped my drama watching quite a bit but when there’s a will, there’s a way.

January’s TBW PILE

Buddy Watch

Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?

Therese and I already finished our January buddy watch but this is what we watched. 🙂

January Releases

Payback: Money and Power
Agency
Crash Course in Romance
Can We Be Strangers?

Since this is a plan of action for my k-drama watching for the upcoming month, instead of sharing all of the January new releases in this portion of the post, I’m just going to be sharing the new releases that I plan on watching. I’ve been including all of the new releases in the past like two or three posts and it’s confusing me, number wise so yeah, I’m doing away with that. So these are the new releases that I’m looking forward to watching this month.

Shows That Are Finishing in January

Alchemy of Souls 2: Light and Shadow
The Forbidden Marriage
Unlock My Boss
Island, Season 1

What dramas are on your TBW pile for January? Anything good that I should keep my eye out for? Please share the dramas you have on deck to read next month.

My TBW Pile: December 2022

Posted December 8, 2022 by Rowena in Features | 0 Comments

In an effort to organize my k-drama watching and keep track of what I’m watching, what I’m loving, and what I’m hating, I’m bringing it to the blog. Each month, I’ll put a list together of the shows that I plan on watching and then track my progress through these monthly posts. Let’s see what this month’s plan looks like, shall we?

Here’s a breakdown of how I did on last month’s TBW Pile.

Previous Month Stats

Drama’s to Watch: 16 | Drama’s Watched: 11
Drama’s Dropped: 1 | Drama’s Unwatched: 3
Favorite Watch: Weak Hero, Class 1 | Least Favorite Watch: Love is for Suckers

The three shows that I didn’t get around to watching, one I just haven’t gotten around to but the other two didn’t release. The Fabulous delayed their release because of the tragedy in Itaewon on Halloween and MDL had a November release date for Unlock my Boss but that show is actually releasing their first episodes this week. So I never got around to watching those three but they’re on my list for watching this month.

December’s TBW PILE

Buddy Watch

Alchemy of Souls 2: Light and Shadow

Therese and I never got around to watching the first season again and I’m not that mad about it. I’m not mad at all. About halfway through November, I told Tita that I just wanted to watch the new season of Alchemy of Souls when it releases, without a re-watch of the previous season. I feel like thanks to Kdrama TikTok and IG, I’ve watched enough of the first season to prepare for the second season but we are definitely watching this drama this month. TWO MORE DAYS!!

December Releases

Unlock the Boss
The Forbidden Marriage
Money Heist Korea
Alchemy of Souls 2: Light and Shadow

Interests of Love
The Fabulous
Island, Season 1
The Glory

Shows That Are Finishing in December

May I Help You?
Behind Every Star
Revenge of Others

The First Responders
Reborn Rich
Summer Strike

I’m going to miss the shows that are wrapping up this month and the one that I’m going to miss the most is May I Help You?. I’ll be busy with the December releases though so on to the final batch of 2022 dramas.

My TBW Pile: November 2022

Posted November 3, 2022 by Rowena in Features | 0 Comments

These days, I’m not reading much since there are just too many k-dramas that I’m itching to watch so I’m organizing my k-drama watching and keeping track of it all here on the blog. Each month, I’ll put a list together of the shows that I’m planning on watching and then track my progress through these monthly posts. Let’s see what this month’s plan looks like, shall we?

Here’s a breakdown of how I did on last month’s TBW Pile.

Previous Month Stats

Drama’s to Watch: 6 | Drama’s Watched: 6
Drama’s Un-watched: 0 | Drama’s Dropped: 1
Favorite Watch: The Cursed | Least Favorite Watch: The Cursed

November’s TBW PILE

Buddy Watch

Alchemy of Souls

Therese and I decided that we’re going to re-watch the entire first season of Alchemy of Souls to prepare ourselves for season 2 on December 10th. We enjoyed this show so much (one of my top shows of the year) and the wait for the second season has been torture so when the time comes for the episode to drop, we’ll be ready cause we’re re-watching it all November. I can’t wait.

November Releases

The Fabulous
Revenge of Others
The First Responders
Behind Every Star

Somebody
Weak Hero Class 1
The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate

Please Send a Fan Letter
Unlock the Boss

I know that this is a long list of shows to add to my TBW list but I can’t help it. I want to watch all of these and even though I have loads of plans since November is my birthday month, my Dad’s birthday month, and the holiday season starts up, whatever, I’m going to try to watch all of these shows. I’ll see what sticks once I start all of them.

Shows That Are Finishing in November

Blind
Gaus Electronics
Love in Contract
Love is for Suckers
Bad Prosecutor

I have enjoyed every single one of these shows so I’m gonna be so sad once they all end. I’m sure I’ll get over my disappointment pretty quickly since I’ll be busy once the new shows start.

My TBW Pile: October 2022

Posted October 6, 2022 by Rowena in Features | 0 Comments

These days, I’m not reading much since there are just too many k-dramas that I’m itching to watch so I’m organizing my k-drama watching and keeping track of it all here on the blog. Each month, I’ll put a list together of the shows that I’m planning on watching and then track my progress through these monthly posts. Let’s see what this month’s plan looks like, shall we?

Here’s a breakdown of how I did on last month’s TBW Pile.

Previous Month Stats

Drama’s to Watch: 5 | Drama’s Watched: 3 | Drama’s Dropped: 0
Drama’s I Didn’t Watch: 2 | Episode’s Watched:
Favorite Watch: Little Women | Least Favorite Watch: Once Upon a Smalltown

I only didn’t watch two of the five dramas that I planned on watching last month. I’m giving myself a break since I went to Hawaii for a week and didn’t watch anything while I was living my best life, ziplining and just adoring the island aesthetics. I do plan on watching both of the two dramas that I didn’t get to this month so I’ll be all caught up in no time. My favorite watch of the bunch listed above is Little Women and my least favorite is Once Upon a Smalltown. I’m going to do my buddy watch with Therese here in Vegas this week so we’ll knock that one out shortly. I’m excited.

October’s TBW PILE

Buddy Watch

The Cursed

# of Episodes: 12
Network: tvN
Where to Watch: Netflix
Starring: Uhm Ji Won, Jung Ji So, Sung Dong Il, Jo Min Soo
Director: Kim Yong Wan
Screenwriter: Yeon Sang Ho
Genres: Horror, Mystery, Thriller, Supernatural

Im Jin Hee is an enthusiastic reporter, out to do the right thing. She covers a violent case involving Forest, the biggest IT company in South Korea. The chairman of Forest is Jin Jong Hyun, who relies heavily on shamanism. During her investigation, Im Jin Hee learns of a spiritual consulting company that is affiliated with Forest. The head of that affiliate company is Jin Kyung. While trying to reveal the secret behind Forest, Im Jin Hee meets So Jin, who is possessed by a spirit and has a special ability.

Therese and I never got around to watching this show last month so we’re making it our buddy watch for October and to be honest, I think it’s better suited for spooky season so I’m happy with this choice. Even better??? Therese is here in Vegas with me so we’re going to watch it together at my house instead of over FaceTime from our respective homes.

I think I’m ready to jump right into this one even though I’m a little scared. Bring on the spooky shit!

October Releases

Bad Prosecutor
One Hundred Won Butler
Cheer Up
Love is For Suckers
Ransom

Glitch
Yonder
Under the Queen’s Umbrella

I’m not sure if I’m going to watch all of these shows but I’m definitely going to be watching Bad Prosecutor, One Hundred Won Butler, and Love is for Suckers. The others definitely look interesting and I’ll try to watch them all but we’ll see what I’m in the mood for as the month goes on.

Shows That Are Finishing in October

Little Women
The Law Cafe

Man, these two shows have been a whole lot of fun to watch and I’m curious to see how they’re going to end. My favorite of the two is Little Women and I’m on pins and needles trying to figure out how this show is going to wrap up. I love all of the characters, all of the actors playing those characters and just the overall show. I’m going to be sad when both of these shows end.

What dramas are on your TBW pile for October? Is anything good that I should keep my eye out for? Please share the dramas you have on deck to read next month.
