week-in-books Currently Reading score The Score (Off Campus #3) by Elle Kennedy.
He knows how to score, on and off the ice Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands. It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.
Dean’s book. Do not call me, do not email me. I’ll see you when I come up for air. 🙂 Read
Alpha & Omega (Alpha & Omega #.5) by Patricia Briggs | 4.5 out of 5 Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega #1) by Patricia Briggs | 4 out of 5
Thanks to the Five Books Everyone Should Read Challenge on Book Binge, I have finally discovered the Alpha & Omega series by Patricia Briggs. For years, I’ve heard people raving about this series and I’m finally jumping in. I really enjoyed both stories that I’ve read so far and I’m definitely looking into reading more from this series once I get some of my review books out of the way. Charles Cornick is my newest book boyfriend right now. He’s so full of yum and like I was telling my friend Tasha over the weekend, I’m totally picturing Uncas from Last of the Mohicans whenever Charles comes onto the scene. Charles Cornick Yep, that’s my Charles Cornick. Reviewed

I’m grinning from ear to ear because three books that I’ve been looking forward to dropped into my review queue this week and I couldn’t be happier. Jockblocked??? I’m going to jump on that book just as quick as I can.
This year, I’m going to be tracking the books that I bought so I’m adding this section to my week in books posts and to start things off, I bought the following books this week.
The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah MacLean The Score by Elle Kennedy
Squee, some awesome books that I can’t wait to dig into.
I have awesome friends and they gift me books they want me to read so I’ll be keeping track of those too.

It’s a Kleypas, I love Kleypas so I’m a happy camper! There you have it, my week in books. How did your week go?

week-in-books Currently Reading My Kind of Wonderful My Kind of Wonderful (Cedar Ridge #2) by Jill Shalvis.
UNEXPECTED AND UNDENIABLE… Bailey Moore has an agenda: skiing in the Rockies, exploring castles in Europe, ballroom dancing in Argentina. Now that she has a second lease on life, she’s determined not to miss a thing. What she doesn’t realize is that item #1 comes with a six-foot-one ski god hot enough to melt a polar ice cap. She doesn’t want to miss out on him either, but Hudson Kincaid isn’t the type of guy to love and let go. And as gorgeous as Cedar Ridge is, she’s not planning to stick around. As head of ski patrol at his family’s resort, Hud thinks he’s seen it all. But never has he run into someone like Bailey. She might look delicate, but her attitude is all firecracker. And her infectious joy touches something deep within him that he’s been missing far too long. Now he’ll just have to convince Bailey to take a chance on her biggest adventure yet . . . something rare and all kinds of wonderful.
I never started My American Duchess because I saw that I never read this book so I started it over the long weekend but didn’t get very far into it. I blame Hawaii 5-0. I haven’t been able to stop watching that show long enough to do much else. So far, the book is good. It’s a little different in the sense that the heroine is a cancer survivor and her hair is still growing back and she’s still a bit frail from her fight with cancer but I’m finding that I’m really digging getting to know Bailey. So far, she’s rocking my socks. And Hudson? Yeah, Hud is just as big a stud as I knew he was going to be. Read Nothing. With the holidays and my marathon of Hawaii 5-0, reading took a back seat this week. Reviewed

week-in-books Currently Reading my american duchess My American Duchess by Eloisa James

The arrogant Duke of Trent intends to marry a well-bred Englishwoman. The last woman he would ever consider marrying is the adventuresome Merry Pelford— an American heiress who has infamously jilted two fiancés.

But after one provocative encounter with the captivating Merry, Trent desires her more than any woman he has ever met. He is determined to have her as his wife, no matter what it takes. And Trent is a man who always gets what he wants.

The problem is, Merry is already betrothed, and the former runaway bride has vowed to make it all the way to the altar. As honor clashes with irresistible passion, Trent realizes the stakes are higher than anyone could have imagined. In his battle to save Merry and win her heart, one thing becomes clear:

All is fair in love and war.
This past week, I’ve read quite a bit of historical romances and I’m not even a little bit mad about it. I’m reading some great romances so I guess I want to keep the historical party going. I haven’t started this one yet but I will be reading this one tonight and I can’t wait.

Read

Did I Mention I Love You by Estelle Maskame | 2.75 out of 5
Dukes Prefer Blondes (Dressmakers #4) by Loretta Chase | 4.75 out of 5
Lord Dashwood Missed Out (Spindle Cove #4.5) by Tessa Dare | 3.5 out of 5
Scorched (Frigid #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout | 3 out of 5
The Deal (Off-Campus #1) by Elle Kennedy | 5 out of 5
The Mistake (Off-Campus #2) by Elle Kennedy | 4.5 out of 5

My favorite read of the week is probably my re-read of The Deal by Elle Kennedy because damn that Garrett Graham but of the new reads, hands down my favorite read is Dukes Prefer Blondes by Loretta Chase. That was such a fun book with a steamy romance that had me sighing and laughing all over the damn place. So freaking good!

My least favorite read of the week goes to Did I Mention I Love You by Estelle Maskame. I think I’m starting to get over YA’s and while that makes me sad, there is still plenty of things for me to read so I’m sure I’ll be okay.

Week in Books (3)

Posted December 14, 2015 by Rowena in Books, Features | 0 Comments

week-in-books I think I found my end of the year reading stride because I got some damn books read this week. Yay me! My review pile is slowly dwindling and I haven’t picked up or requested very many of eARCs in the last couple of weeks because I really want to get my review pile down. I’m crossing my fingers that I can knock some more out this week. Wish me luck!

Did I Mention I Love You by Estelle Maskame

Love is everything but expected.

Eden Monro came to California for a summer of sun, sand, and celebrities – what better way to forget about the drama back home? Until she meets her new family of strangers: a dad she hasn’t seen in three years, a step-monster, and three stepbrothers.

Eden gets her own room in her dad’s fancy house in Santa Monica. A room right next door to her oldest stepbrother, Tyler Bruce. Whom she cannot stand. He’s got angry green eyes and ego bigger than a Beverly Hills mansion. She’s never felt such intense dislike for someone. But the two are constantly thrown together as his group of friends pull her into their world of rule-breaking, partying, and pier-hanging.

And the more she tries to understand what makes Tyler burn hotter than the California sun, the more Eden finds herself falling for the one person she shouldn’t…

Did I Mention I Love You? is the addictive first book in Wattpad sensation Estelle Maskame’s DIMILY trilogy: three unforgettable summers of secrets, heartbreak, and forbidden romance.

I haven’t gotten very far into this book but I’m looking forward to getting it read since the book takes place not too far from where I live. After I finish this book, I’m going to jump into Lord Dashwood Missed Out by Tessa Dare.

Week in Books (2)

Posted December 7, 2015 by Rowena in Books, Features | 0 Comments

week-in-books It’s been a really quiet week in books for me. I’m not sure if it’s the end of the year book blues or what but for some reason, I’m just not in the mood to read. I’ve been watching Greys Anatomy in my spare time and I never thought there’d come a day when I’d want to pick that show up again but there you go.

Currently Reading dirty deeds Alex Dawn is saying no to men. No to bad relationships, disappointments, and smooth-talkers. Focusing on her family and her job at Payton and Sons Automotive keeps her mind occupied and her heart content. She doesn’t really miss a man’s touch, until one night, a man shows up with the body of a god and a voice from her dirtiest dreams.

L.M. Spencer is only in Tory, Maryland, to scope out the town as a possible site for one of his company’s hotels. The British businessman didn’t expect his car to break down or to find the hottest little American he’s ever seen holding a tire iron, piercing him with bright blue eyes.

They agree to one hot night, one dirty deed to burn out the chemistry between them. But from their first kiss, Alex can’t stop saying yes to this man. And when Spencer’s company threatens everything she cares about, they must make the choice to stand together or apart.

This is the book that I’m going to try to get read tonight. Wish me luck.

Read Nothing. I did not read a blessed thing last week. Someone hold me.
