Since we’re still in a pandemic, I’m not doing much outside of my house and I really doubt you guys want to hear about my trips to the grocery store so stick around and let’s see what I got into this week.

The Weekly Recap (160)

Posted February 8, 2021 by Rowena in Features | 12 Comments

Not much has been going on lately. Especially this week. Things are poppin’ at work so I’ve been busy there but it’s mostly boring stuff that is only interesting to me and my coworkers. Brenna started her job last week and my kid is so grown now. She has a 9-5 job, she’s exhausted when she gets off of work but she still makes time to call me every day to tell me all about her day. I think I talk to Brenna more now than when she was here. Our talks are more meaningful now and even though she gets on my hot damn nerves when we’re together, I miss her. I’ll get to see her in a couple of weeks for my niece’s wedding so I’m looking forward to that. I’ll also get to see my Dad. It’s been an adjustment not seeing him every single day but like Brenna, I do talk to my Dad at least once a week and our talks are a lot more meaningful now. He’s still the same, happy go lucky guy and I’m fortunate to still have him around. I’m looking forward to seeing him again.

I’ve also been thinking about my best friend, Therese. Since I know that you’re reading this, I’m thinking of you, Therese! My fast went well yesterday and I’ve got my fingers crossed that you’ll get some answers. Love you, dude!

Now, let’s get into all of the things that I did last week…

The Weekly Recap (159)

Posted February 1, 2021 by Rowena in Features | 10 Comments

This week, there was a funeral in my family and I sat through the 7 hour funeral feeling bad for my niece. My cousin’s grandson passed away last month and they were finally able to lay him to rest on Friday. He was the same age as my Lukey so I’ve been thinking about Luke a lot lately. Hold your babies close because you just never know.

Now, let’s get into all of the things that I did last week…

What I Watched

Run BTS: This week’s Run BTS follows the boys as they play games. In order to go home, they have to complete all 14 games and let me tell you, Suga, Jin, and J Hope are terrible at games. I laughed plenty of times watching the boys try to finish and win the games and just…failing. When Jin and RM watch V make his way through the laser games so smoothly and without hitting the bells, it was super funny.

True Beauty: This show continues to make me smile with each and every episode. It hasn’t been super perfect because I feel like Im Ju-gyeong be doing the most when trying to hide her bare face from everyone. But I’m really liking the romance between her and Lee Su-ho and though I do enjoy the friendship between her and Han Seo-jun but for me, and this is coming from someone who didn’t read the webtoon, I’m Team Su-ho through and through.

Naruto: I started watching this show because my friend B Nice wanted to show some love to our other friend Therese because we’re constantly forcing Therese to do things that we love and she does it (I have the best friends) so to show her that we love her, we both started watching Naruto because it’s Therese’s favorite show. B Nice and I started it together but B Nice has blown way past me. I started watching it on Netflix and for some reason, I could not understand what the heck is going on so everyone told me to watch it on Hulu, and even though it’s the same show, it’s heaps better on Hulu. Now that I’m all caught up on everything, I’m finally understanding what the heck is going on and who is who so yesss I’m enjoying it so much more now.

Sweet Home: I binge-watched the entire first season this weekend and enjoyed every single minute. This just might be the year that I get into horror stuff because I’ve watched a couple of movies and now this show and I think I’m hooked. I’ll review this one soon.

The Weekly Recap (158)

Posted January 18, 2021 by Rowena in Features | 0 Comments

For the most part, my days and nights are a routine of daily tasks. Get up for work, make some coffee, work, figure out dinner, cook or help my sister cook, take my meds, and though I should be bored by all of the mundane tasks that I do every single day, I’m not. I like having a routine. I like having a to-do list, I even like cleaning the house on Saturdays. I never, in a million years thought I would ever like waking up on Saturday to clean.

I’ve been living in Las Vegas for a little over two months and I think my body has finally become accustomed to this dry ass Vegas winter weather because I’m not struggling anymore. I was hating life for a few weeks but I’m super glad that all of that seems to be behind me now.

This post is coming to you a little late because I took the day off yesterday and then completely forgot to schedule this to go up this morning. Oops.

Anyway, let’s get into all of the things that I did last week…

What I Watched

Run BTS
True Beauty
Naruto
BTS Prom Party – Re;View & Pre;View

Last week was a great week of TV watching for me. I’m really amping up on my Naruto binge watching and I’m wanting to spank Naruto less and less though now I’m wanting to spank all of the other kids, even Sasuke. True Beauty was great this week too. Holy shit, Lee Su Ho!!! This week’s BTS concert/fan event that I watched was the BTS Prom Party and that was yet another fantastic show. I really want to see these guys live in concert. I can’t wait for them to start touring again.

What I Read

Training Camp by Wesley King and Kobe Bryant (Rain) | 4 out of 5

It took me a couple of days to get into Rain’s story but once I had a grasp on what was going on, the story really picked up and I ended up liking this one. I’m breaking up each kids story since it’s a lot to read at one time so next month, I’ll read the next story. Still, Rain’s book was a solid one.

What I Listened To

Love Yourself 承: Her
Love Yourself 轉: Tear
Love Yourself 結: Answer

Oh man, this set of albums was fantastic and I think most of my favorite songs are on the Love Yourself: Tear album. So much goodness so it was a great week in music for me.

The Weekly Recap (157)

Posted January 11, 2021 by Rowena in Features | 0 Comments

Happy Monday, everyone! Considering what happened last week in D.C., I’m not sure how many people are having happy days these days. We’re living in some seriously weird-ass times and I’ll just be over here, distracting myself with books, kpop, and kdramas. Last week was a pretty sad week, first the madness in D.C. and then Tommy Lasorda died so it was a sad week for Dodgers fans everywhere.

My friend B Nice surprised me this weekend with a surprise visit and it was so good to see a familiar face from home. We had a girl’s night in and watched the BTS 5th Muster Magic Shop fan event and it was such a fun night. The concert was such a fun concert and it was SO MUCH FUN to watch it with another BTS fan. I force Brenna and my sister Ingrid to watch it but I didn’t have to force B Nice. Thanks so much for coming over B Nice! I had a lot of fun and hope you did too.

Now, let’s get into all of the things that I did last week…

What I Watched

True Beauty | 4.5 out of 5
Run BTS | 5 out of 5
Naruto | 4.25 out of 5
BTS 5th Muster Magic Shop | 5 out of 5

This week was a great week of television watching for me and I enjoyed every episode that I watched. True Beauty is back and I enjoyed both episodes from this week. I like the second lead but not more than the first lead. Cha Eunwoo does the aloof hero so well and I’m here for it. This week’s episode of Run BTS was another funny one. I swear Jimin and JK stay making me laugh and seeing J Hope get frustrated trying to walk Jin and Suga through cooking a recipe and V’s dry sense of humor in this episode made for such a fun half-hour and I’m looking forward to this week’s episode.

I’m still making my way through Naruto, it’s slow going because I’m watching only about 5 episodes a night but I’m still laughing my way through the episodes and I still want to spank Naruto but he’s got a charm about him that I like so I’m here for his shenanigans.

My favorite thing that I watched was, of course, the BTS 5th Muster Magic Shop fan event concert. They sang most of my favorite songs that we don’t see them perform all that often so I was super happy. They sang Magic Shop!!!
