The Monthly Recap posts are a way for me to take a look back and reflect on my previous month in Korean dramas. I always lose track of what I want to watch and I need these posts to keep me honest with my damn self because I be forgetting shit.
February was a short month and I didn’t watch a whole lot of dramas. I think there was a week where I didn’t watch anything outside of Seventeen in the Soop. Now that the shows that I was excited to start have begun, I’m hopeful that my March drama watching will be pick up. So let’s start this recap, shall we?
Monthly Stats
Dramas Completed: 6 | Dramas Dropped: 2 | Dramas Still Watching: 5
Dramas Reviewed: 6 | Boyfriend of the Month:
Favorite Drama: Love to Hate You | Least Favorite Drama: Strangers Again
What I Completed
Seventeen in the Soop 1
Alice in Borderland
First Love
The Interests of Love
Seventeen in the Soop 2
Of all the shows that I watched in February, my favorite watches weren’t even dramas but both seasons of Seventeen in the Soop. They were shows for resting and healing from hectic schedules and seeing Seventeen enjoy themselves and relax was very healing for me as well. I enjoyed those shows so much that I searched out other kinds of shows that aren’t just dramas and am watching a traveling show with Lee Je Hoon and Ryu Jun Yeol.
What I Dropped
Trolley
Strangers Again
These two shows are my first dropped shows of the year. I wasn’t in the mood for Trolley and am still unsure if I’ll go back to it but I didn’t want to finish Strangers Again and that bummed me out since I was really looking forward to that acting pair together. Oh well.
What I’m Still Watching
Our Blooming Youth
The Heavenly Idol
Taxi Driver 2
Jinny’s Kitchen
What I Reviewed
May I Help You?
Summer Strike
Alchemy of Souls 2: Light and Shadow
Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?
Unlock My Boss
Money Heist: Korea – Joing Economic Area, Pt. 2
Actors that Stood Out
Boo Seungkwan: I am super soft for Seungkwan from Seventeen. I adore his personality, I love how funny he is, and just everything about him. He was such a delightful part of watching Seventeen in the Soop. He made me laugh so much and with every passing episode, I loved him more and more.
Yoon Jeonghan: Jeonghan is a lot funnier than I thought he’d be. I thought that he would be a more serious and quiet but he’s not at all what I thought. That scene in Seventeen in the Soop when Mingyu is rowing him in the boat is hands down, my favorite part of the entire first season. I laughed so much and Jeonghan is me. I love him. He was a bright highlight for me in February.
Kim Ji Hoon: I enjoyed Kim Ji Hoon as Denver in Money Heist so seeing him play a completely different character in Love to Hate You was such a treat. His character was one of my favorite characters of the month. Love, love, love him.

I wasn’t expecting to be as busy as I was in the month of January. I was in Utah and then flew into L.A. for some family stuff and by the time that I got home, I was too exhausted mentally to focus on any drama watching so February started off really slow…but even with how busy I was in January, I watched hella dramas.
Here’s a rundown of what my month looked like. Check it out…

Jung Sung Il from The Glory: This guy was a pretty big highlight for me while watching The Glory. I watched the show for Lee Do Hyun and was pleasantly surprised at the introduction of Ha Do Young. He was fine as hell and I’m going to need him to not be a bad guy. Please, please, please don’t be a bad guy.
Cha Eun Woo from Island: Cha Eun Woo as Priest Yohan was such a vibe. He was such a delightful part of the first season. The show, for the most part was on the dark side and Yohan provided a little sunlight that went a long way and I just really liked his character.
Park Jin Young from He is Psychometric: I watched this show randomly with Therese and we were both so smitten with Park Jin Young in it. He was so handsome and just kept getting more handsome and more handsome with each passing episode. Even after the show ended we were still smitten with him. He fine as hell.

December was a busy month for me personally but I was able to get some quality k-drama watching in and that always makes me happy. So let’s start this recap, shall we?
Monthly Stats
Dramas Watched: 12 | Dramas Completed: 4 | Dramas Dropped: 4 | Dramas Still Watching: 4
Dramas Reviewed: 9 | Boyfriend of the Month: Kim Tae Hee
Favorite Drama: May I Help You? | Least Favorite Drama: Behind Every Star
Dramas I Completed
Behind Every Star | 3 out of 5
Revenge of Others | 3.5 out of 5
May I Help You | 4 out of 5
Reborn Rich | 3.5 out of 5
These were all solid dramas but Behind Every Star was probably my least favorite of the bunch. I did enjoy the others and while I LOVE May I Help You, I don’t think any of the remaining dramas listed will make my favorite shows of the year list.
Dramas I Dropped
Extraordinary You
The First Responders
Like I said above, December was a busy month for me personally so I had to drop a couple of shows that I do hope to get back to soon(ish). It’s not that I wasn’t enjoying these, I just had a lot of stuff going on and haven’t gotten back to them. I’m hoping to finish them out this month. Wish me luck on that.
Dramas I’m Still Watching
Alchemy of Souls 2: Light and Shadow
The Forbidden Marriage
The Interest of Love
Unlock My Boss
Island, Season 1
I’m going to be so sad this coming weekend because the final season of Alchemy of Souls comes to an end. It’s my favorite show of the year so far and I’m not ready to say goodbye to Jang Uk and Naksu and the rest of the gang. The other shows are great too…I hope that they stay that way.
Dramas I Reviewed
Blind | 4.5 out of 5
Love in Contract | 4 out of 5
Extraordinary Attorney Woo | 4.5 out of 5
Alchemy of Souls | 5 out of 5
Hotel Del Luna | 4 out of 5

Gaus Electronics | 4.5 out of 5
Bad Prosecutor | 4 out of 5
Little Women | 4 out of 5
Weak Hero, Class 1 | 4.5 out of 5
Actors that Stood Out
Lee Jun Young: Lee Jun Young as Kim Tae Hee was the bomb. I’ve seen him in a few other things but this role is my favorite of his. I watched a lot of episodes of May I Help You multiple times because he’s so easy on the eyes. Gotta love the eye candy but I also really enjoyed the way that he made Kim Tae Hee shine.
Seo Ji Hoon: I don’t remember ever seeing Seo Ji Hoon in any other drama before but I really liked what he brought to Seok Jae Beom character. He was so great that I looked him up and made note of everything else he’s been in and has coming up, I’m a supporter of his now.
Steven Noh: Jane was my favorite part of the show, Behind Every Star but Lee Sang Wook was a very close second. He was so fine that I had an attitude whenever he didn’t pop on the show enough to suit me. I didn’t know who he was before but I know him now…:)

You guys, we are 6 days into the last month of 2022. Where has the time gone? Shitballs. 2022 has been a doozy of a year and while there have certainly been a whole lot of ups, the year wasn’t without some pretty big downs as well. November, I didn’t get everything that I wanted to watch, watched but that’s okay…I’m still excited for what December brings.
I spent Thanksgiving with my family in California and while that was great, my sister was sick and missed Thanksgiving with the rest of the family so that was a bummer. She’s better now though so I’m glad. So let’s start this recap, shall we?

Curtain Call
Grid
I quit the first two dramas because I just wasn’t into them. The main leads in Love is for Suckers drove me up the wall and I lost count of how many times I wanted to fight the female lead. She was such a shitty friend to the male lead and no matter how many times the male lead showed up for her, she instead only used him for her damn job.
Grid wasn’t a bad drama, I just wasn’t in the mood for a sci-fi kind of drama so though I dropped it, I’m planning on picking that one up again at a later time.

Choi Hyun Wook: I adored his character in Weak Hero, Class 1 and I need the second season of that show to come out so that we can catch up with his character. I’m pretty anxious about how his character will fit into the next season. Please, please, please be okay!
Do Kyung Soo: Jin Jung was such a great character. I loved how his moral compass was on tighter than a bowstring. He did what he felt was right even when it was hard and he made things fun as well. I adored the heck out of him and miss him now that the drama is over.
Yoon Park: I’m a sucker for a single dad trope and I really adored Bang Jung Seok in Fan Letter, Please. He was one of the last main leads that I loved since I watched his drama at the end of the month but he’s definitely a memorable one. I adored him and am already waiting for his next project.

I can’t believe that we’re already entering into the last two months of the year and that a month has passed since my last Monthly Recap. Time is moving way too fast and I’m not sure I’m ready for the new year. I have loads of plans and shit to do but am I ready to tackle all of it? Not really. The show must go on though so I’ll be moving forward with this post, at the very least.
October was a lot busier than I thought it would, especially with how busy September was. I traveled to Utah and then on to California for different things. I had a lot of fun but was more than ready for a break from the hustle and bustle that is my family life. I did manage to get some k-drama watching in so that’s a good thing. Let’s take a look back on what I watched, what worked, and what didn’t work for me. Shall we?

The Law Cafe | 4 out of 5
This was a solid month in my k-drama watching. Out of the three shows that I completed, my favorite of the bunch was definitely Little Women. My least favorite is the one drama that I couldn’t even finish.
Dramas I Dropped
The Cursed | 1.5 out of 5
Therese and I tried to get into this show but it was too confusing, the story was just meh and it was hard to connect with the characters so we got to episode 5 and called it quits. I was surprised that we only got to episode 5 because I thought we were watching for days and were a lot farther into the show but nope…it was that boring for the both of us. Oh well.
Dramas I’m Still Watching
Blind
Love in Contract
Bad Prosecutor

Gaus Electronics
Love is for Suckers

Military Prosecutor Doberman | 3.5 out of 5

I’m really enjoying this drama and I’m sad that it’s wrapping up next week BUT as much as I’m enjoying the main three leads, I’m enjoying Jung Eun Ji’s character the most. She’s always looking on the bright side of things and always doing her best to do what’s right. I like her acting so I’m looking forward to checking her out in whatever else she’s got going on.
I love me some Kwak Dong Yeon but I especially love him in this drama. I didn’t think that I could love one of his characters more than I loved Jerry from Big Mouth but I hella love Lee Sang Sik. I love how unlucky he is and how optimistic he is even when things are stacked against him. He treats everyday as a day to do better than yesterday and I just love him sincerity so he stayed with me throughout the month.
I’ve seen Go Kyung Pyo in a lot of different things and I’ve enjoyed him in everything he’s been in but it wasn’t until this show and this character that I’ve really paid attention to him. I really like him as Jung Ji Ho and seeing him bring this character to life every week has been a delight. I’m buying everything he’s selling and seeing his character learn to fall in love and be in love has been great. He’s been great.
